Man fatally shot on street; 2 flee
A 21-year-old father of three was shot Friday night by possibly two gang members, according to a Los Angeles Police Department spokeswoman.
Oscar Antonio Escobar was walking home with take-out food along Melrose Avenue near Hobart Boulevard about 11:20 when police say two men, between the ages of about 20 and 28, shot him, police spokeswoman Kate Lopez said.
Escobar, who was found in the street, was brought to Los Angeles County/USC Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Police, who were still seeking a motive, said the suspects fled in a 1990s black Honda.
