Man is stabbed in Buena Park school parking lot
A 42-year-old man was seriously wounded after he was stabbed numerous times in the parking lot at a Buena Park elementary school early Tuesday, authorities said.
Police are searching for two men suspected of assaulting the man shortly after midnight Monday, said Buena Park Police Sgt. Chris Nunez.
The incident began when the victim, whose name was not released by authorities, was approached by two men while sitting in an older model silver BMW in the parking lot at Gordon H. Beatty School, Nunez said.
The man told authorities that a conversation with the men turned into an argument, which led to a physical fight outside the car with one and then both men, said Nunez, adding that later the victim “realizes that he was actually stabbed.”
The victim suffered numerous stab wounds and cuts on his side, chest, neck and chin, Nunez said.
The assailants then allegedly sped away -- hitting a parked car -- in an older model white or silver Honda Accord, said Sgt. Bill Kohanek.
The wounded man -- who police believe may be a transient who was living out of his car -- then struggled across the street to residences near Country Club and Cameron drives and yelled for help, authorities said.
He was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he was being treated for serious but not life-threatening injuries, authorities said.
