Record vs. Blaze -- 1-0.
Update -- The Avengers have lost three consecutive games and five of their last six, but they can move a step closer to clinching a playoff berth with a victory over the Blaze, one of the hottest teams in the Arena Football League. Behind Coach Danny White, a former NFL quarterback, Utah has won four of its last five games. However, because the Avengers won the first meeting, 79-62, the Blaze need to win by more than 17 points to secure the playoff tiebreaker between the teams. Avengers quarterbacks Sonny Cumbie and Tim Hicks have combined to pass for 73 touchdowns and more than 3,500 yards, but their inconsistent play has been a problem this season for Coach Ed Hodgkiss, who has led the Avengers to the playoffs in five of the last six seasons.
