No. 14 La Puente Bishop Amat (7-2, 1-1) at No. 3 Sherman Oaks Notre Dame (9-0, 2-0)

There are no assurances of a playoff berth for Bishop Amat even with a victory in its Serra League finale. Should the Lancers win and Los Angeles Loyola defeat Encino Crespi, there would be a three-way tie for the league title between Bishop Amat, Notre Dame and Loyola. Since there are only two guaranteed playoff spots from the four-team league, one of the champions would have to hope for the Pac-5 Division’s lone wild-card entry. Notre Dame is averaging 35 points behind an offense that features more than just prolific quarterback Ryan Kasdorf. “I’m not sure what you do to stop them,” Bishop Amat Coach Steve Hagerty said. “ . . . They’re going to have to fall on their face somehow.”

The pick: Notre Dame.

No. 13 Bellflower St. John Bosco (7-2, 2-2) vs. No. 16 Anaheim Servite (6-3, 3-1)

Tonight at Cerritos College, 7:30

Servite could be on the brink of a fourth consecutive league title under Coach Troy Thomas and St. John Bosco could be on the cusp of missing the playoffs after starting the season 6-0. The Braves have lost two of their last three games, including a 35-6 whipping last week by Santa Ana Mater Dei, which sacked St. John Bosco quarterback Keith Price six times. Servite has won three consecutive games since a 42-21 loss to Mater Dei.

The pick: Servite.

No. 21 Upland (8-1, 3-1) vs. Rancho Cucamonga (8-0-1, 4-0)

Tonight at Rancho Cucamonga Los Osos High, 7

Greg Watson, Rancho Cucamonga’s junior quarterback, will try to upstage a more ballyhooed counterpart for the second time in three weeks. He led a 27-21 overtime victory over UCLA-bound Richard Brehaut and Rancho Cucamonga Los Osos on Oct. 31. This time, Watson will match passes with Stanford-bound Josh Nunes. “Greg’s not as tall as those guys, but he’s got just as live an arm and can run the ball,” Rancho Cucamonga Coach Nick Baiz said. A victory would give Rancho Cucamonga its first Baseline League title since 2002 and the top seeding in the Central Division playoffs.

The pick: Rancho Cucamonga.

Harbor City Narbonne (8-1, 4-0) at Carson (5-4, 3-1)

Tonight, 7

Regardless of the outcome, Narbonne will go into the playoffs as the top team from the Marine League because it won coin flips this week. But that doesn’t mean there’s nothing at stake for the Gauchos. “Winning this game puts us undefeated in league and gives us three home games in the playoffs,” Narbonne Coach Manuel Douglas said. Carson switched quarterbacks last week in the wake of Daniel Torres’ broken thumb on his throwing hand. Torres has moved to fullback and still calls audibles to help ease the transition for sophomore Justin Alo.
