What Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth have to say

Share

Al Michaels serves as the play-by-play announcer, and Cris Collinsworth provides the color commentary for tonight’s Minnesota at Carolina game (5:15, Channel 4):

Michaels says ...

Brett Favre and Adrian Peterson could each have big nights. The Vikings are looking to wrap up a first-round bye, and that should be motivation enough to keep them interested against an overmatched opponent. The Panthers do have a running game, and they’ve got one of the better backs in the league in DeAngelo Williams, but he’ll have to have a very big game tonight for the Panthers to have a shot. And against Minnesota’s vaunted run defense? Good luck.

Collinsworth says ...

For Brett Favre, he has a chance to go out in a dream scenario. I think it’s pretty clear now that he has a chance to do a John Elway here. He has a chance to go out on top. It’s the rarest of all circumstances, and how amazing would it be for him to switch to another team in his division, wear purple and do it for the Vikings to get them their first Super Bowl championship. But there’s no question this team has the ability to do that.
