Today’s games

at Arco Arena, Sacramento

Division II: Rialto Eisenhower (31-3) vs. Rocklin (32-2), 8 -- This is a rematch of a game won by Eisenhower, 77-66, in December. Creighton-bound guard Andrew Bock scored 25 points in that game for the Eagles, who made 14 three-point shots. Rocklin is led by UCLA signee Brendan Lane, a 6-foot-10 center who creates matchup problems for Eisenhower because the Eagles have 6-4 forward Bernard Ireland and no other player taller than 6-2. Eisenhower spreads the floor with shooters and pressures the ball on defense. “We’ve played some big teams and done fine against them, so the size doesn’t matter,” Eagles Coach Steve Johnson said. Eisenhower is trying to become the first boys’ team from San Bernardino County to win a state championship in basketball.

Division V: Los Angeles Windward (28-6) vs. Alameda St. Joseph Notre Dame (26-8), 1:30 -- Even though Windward will be making its first appearance in a state title game, the Wildcats have an edge in experience with a trio of college-bound seniors: center Anthony Stover (UCLA) and guards Darius Morris (Michigan) and Malcolm Washington (Pennsylvania). Notre Dame has three sophomores in prominent roles: center Brendan Keane and guards Jacari Whitfield and Dominic Lippi. “Their style of play is a little different than ours,” Windward Coach Miguel Villegas said. “They don’t run as much as we do. We’re going to look to push the tempo and contain their shooters.”
