Dallas takes the top NFL Bottom 10 spot

Share

Difficult to believe, but the once-mighty Dallas Cowboys (0-1) are averaging seven points a game this season, meaning they have the second-worst offense in the NFL.

The only team more feeble is San Francisco, a 6-31 loser to Seattle, in a week in which every current and past California team fell. The Golden State, in fact, holds down Nos. 2-4 in the Bottom Ten.

The No. 3 Raiders, now in their seventh rebuilding year, put on a colorful display of fumbles, bad snaps and interceptions. On one pass play, Raider quarterback Jason Campbell first faked a handoff into the line. Only problem was that there was no Raiders running back pretending to take the handoff. For some reason, Tennessee wasn’t fooled.

Meanwhile, the No. 5 St. Louis Lambs (0-1), obviously trying to ease rookie quarterback Sam Bradford into the starting position, limited him to 55 pass attempts in a 13-17 loss to Arizona.

Speaking of teams in a tailspin, No. 6 Indianapolis suffered its third consecutive regular-season defeat, a streak that dates to 2009.

Who’d have guessed that it would look like we’ll have a Kansas City-Seattle Super Bowl?

Wreck (Record) Last Loss; Next Loss

1. Dallas (0-1) 7-13, Washington; Chicago

2. San Francisco (0-1) 6-31, Seattle; New Orleans

3. Oakland (0-1) 13-38, Tennessee; St. Louis

4. San Diego (0-1) 14-21, Kansas City; Jacksonville

5. St. Louis (0-1) 13-17, Arizona; Oakland

6. Buffalo (0-1); 7. Detroit (0-1); 8. Indianapolis (0-1); 9. Cleveland (0-1); 10. N.J. Jets (0-1).

Crummy game of the week: No. 5 St. Louis (0-1) at No. 3 Oakland (0-1).

Rout of the week: New Orleans (1-0) over No. 2 San Francisco (0-1).

Hold on! Dallas offensive tackle Alex Barron chalked up three holding calls Sunday, including one that nullified what would have been a game-winning touchdown against Washington. It’s nothing new. Last year he led the NFL with seven holding infractions.
