Listen: Michelle Williams drafts Beyonce, Kelly Rowland for ‘Say Yes’
Remember when Destiny’s Child reunited?
It was only a year ago, but the R&B girl group’s brief team-up during Beyoncé’s performance at the 2013 Super Bowl seems now like a distant memory.
That might be because so much has happened on Planet Beyoncé since then; it might also be the result of a deeply forgettable comeback single.
On Wednesday, though, Destiny’s Child fans had their memories refreshed -- and their hopes for future awesomeness raised -- when a killer new tune appeared online featuring the group’s three members.
Said to be due for inclusion on Michelle Williams’ upcoming gospel album, “Say Yes” reunites Williams with Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland in a lively rendition of a traditional praise song popular in Nigeria. (Beyoncé’s younger sister Solange reportedly sings on the track, as well.)
Williams took to Twitter not long after “Say Yes” began circulating to bemoan the fact that the version of the song that leaked hadn’t been mixed or mastered.
But Pop & Hiss is here to proclaim that she can chill. This thing rules.
