NONLEAGUE

Damien 7, Bonita 6
Stephen Donahoe scored on four-meter penalty shot for his third goal of the game to break a 6-6 tie with less than two minutes to give Damien (15-5), the No. 3-ranked team in the Division IV coaches’ poll, the victory in the Orange Crate Classic at Las Flores Park in La Verne. Ryan Allred and Cameron Phillips each scored two goals to lead Bonita (12-5), ranked No. 1 in Division VI. Both goalkeepers, Adam Hepburn of Bonita and Xande Wright of Damien, had 10 saves.

Long Beach Wilson 17, Coronado 8
Scott Swanson had five goals and Joe Sherrin and Chris Ward each had three goals for Wilson (17-2), the top-ranked team in the Southern Section Division I coaches’ poll. Jacob McIntosh had nine saves in goal in the second half for Wilson. Chay Lapin had three saves in goal in the first half for Wilson, when the Bruins built a 7-1 lead after one quarter and 8-3 advantage by halftime. Coronado, San Diego County’s top Division I team, falls to 12-5.

Muir 10, Pasadena Poly 9
Mike Yost had six goals, and sophomore Rene Rodriguez scored the decisive goal for Muir (8-8) in a nonleague victory over victory over visiting Pasadena Poly (7-8).

Steve Garcia added two goals, two assists and two steals and Ivan Trejo had the other goal for the Mustangs, who played the fourth quarter without senior Bryce Nicholson after he was hit with his third exclusion foul and was ejected from the game in the third quarter. Muir also got seven saves from goalie Adam Esparza and four steals by Greg Warner.Pasadena Poly was led by Sandy Giliffillan, who had four goals, and Abe Kaslow with three goals.

Friday, Oct. 22

FRONTIER LEAGUE

Malibu 16, Nordhoff 10
Kelly Jacobsen and Nick Rollins each scored four goals for Malibu. Mason Alford and Travis Moore each netted three goals for Nordhoff (11-11, 1-3).

Visiting Chadwick scored five goals in the fourth quarter to come back from an 8-6 deficit. Ben Naecker scored five goals for Flintridge Prep (13-9, 4-2).

NONLEAGUE

Edison 12, La Habra 8
Trevor Dewitt scored five goals and goalie Tanner Riley had 11 saves for host Edison (7-14).

The Chargers were tied with La Habra (8-12) after two quarters, then outscored them 7-3 in the second half.

Joe Smith scored three goals to lead Pacifica (1-16).

La Canada 9, Northwood 4
Scott Burns, Gamal Rady, Chris Wehrle and Devon Borisoff each scored two goals for La Canada, while Kevin Coyne recorded 10 saves in goal.

Santa Margarita 11, Tustin 6
Julien Lormant had four goals, six steals and two assists and David Husen added three goals and two assists for Santa Margarita (12-9) at Tustin (12-7). The Eagles are the No. 8-ranked team in Division II and the Tillers are right behind them at No. 8.

Servite 13, Esperanza 11
Daniel Garcia had five goals and three steals and Rory Bevins finished with four goals, four assists and three steals for Servite (9-11) at Esperanza (11-10).

Villa Park 13, Foothill 11
J.W. Krumpholz had eight goals and Ryan Cummins added two goals in the loss for visiting Foothill (14-6) at Orange High School. The game was tied 11-11 with 2:51 left in the fourth quarter when Damjan Dudic of Foothill was ejected for brutality.

The Knights, who are the No. 2-ranked team in the Division I coaches’ poll, would surrender the final two goals to lose the game to the Spartans, who are the top-ranked team in CIF Southern Section Division II.

Cameron Glassman had six goals and Bobby Mack added four for the host Tigers (4-1 in league).

Colin Tewksbury of Riverside Poly (18-2, 5-0) had five goals at Riverside North (1-3).

MARMONTE LEAGUE

Agoura 13, Thousand Oaks 12
Host Agoura (17-4, 6-1) came back from a 10-5 deficit with four and a half minutes to go in the third period and scored seven straight goals to ultimately win 13-12. Agoura had five players score two goals and goalie Ryan Paris had 10 saves. Thousand Oaks (10-12, 3-5) was led by Ryan Vick with five goals, Daniel Smith with three goals, Kyle Knapp with two and Ryan Paris had 16 saves.

Royal 9, Westlake 5
Nick Laszlo had four goals and Tyler Diamond added three for visiting Royal (18-5, 7-0). Matt Lewis made six saves in goal for the Highlandes, who led 4-2 after one quarter and 6-2 at halftime.

MISSION LEAGUE

Harvard-Westlake 11, Crepsi 1
Eric Vreeland had two goals and two assists and Johnny Cirelle had two goals and an assist for Harvard-Westlake (15-2, 5-0), the league-title favorite and No. 3-ranked team in Division I.

Brock Roverud scored the only goal for Crespi (8-11, 1-4).

Loyola 7, Alemany 6
Mike Lennon had three goals for visiting Loyola (11-7, 4-1), which led 7-5 going into the defense-dominated fourth quarter. Alemany drops to 1-4 in league.

ORANGE LEAGUE

Savanna 10, Magnolia 4
Jurl Vinegar of Savanna (10-6, 4-1) scored three of his five goals in the first period to give Savanna at 4-1 lead at Magnolia (2-3).

Downey 9, Cerritos 4
Austin Cooper had three goals, Alan Nevaraz had 16 saves and Tim Aguilar had two goals to lead host Downey (17-7, 3-0), the No. 8-ranked team in Division III. Cerritos, which is ranked No. 9 in the Division II coaches’ poll, dropped to 14-5, 2-1.

The Vikings, who shut out Cerritos the in the second half while scoring six goals, are in command of the San Gabriel Valley League with the win.

SERRA LEAGUE

Servite 12, St. John Bosco 4
Alex Mule had four goals, two assits and four steals and Rory Bevins had three goals, four assists and three steals for host Servite (8-11, 1-0), which led 7-0 after the first quarter. The Friars are the No. 3-ranked team in the CIF Southern Section Division II coaches’ poll.

Josh Garcia had eight goals and Alan McKenzie had six goals to lead host Ayala (14-3, 1-1). The Bulldogs are the No 5-ranked team in the CIF Southern Section Division V coaches’ poll.

Goalie Scotty Robinson had eight saves and Bryce Stowell and Micah Klausman each had four goals to lead host La Habra (9-11, 2-1). Fullerton drops to 0-3 in league.

Ryan Balikian had three goals in the loss for Oaks Christian (12-5, 2-1).

Nordhoff 14, Carpenteria 4
Ben Foley had six goals and three assists, Travis Moore added four goals and two assists and Javier Garza had ten saves in goal for Nordhoff (11-10, 1-2). Erik Dearkland had three goals in the loss for host Carpenteria.

MARMONTE LEAGUE

Calabasas 7, Westlake 6
Alex Student scored three goals including the game-winner with 16 seconds remaining to lift host Calabasas (11-6, 3-4).

Royal 14, Newbury Park 7
Matt Lewis had 10 saves, including a blocked penalty shot, Ben Cobb and Juan Camero each scored four goals and Nick Lazlo and Adam Thomas each added two goals for host Royal (17-5, 6-0), which is ranked No. 2 in the Division IV coaches’ poll.

Billy Doherty and Kyle Ripley both had two goals and goalie Justin Schwaiger added 13 saves for the Newbury Park (10-8, 3-4), which is the tenth-ranked team in Division IV.

Thousand Oaks 17, Moorpark 5
Kyle Knapp of Thousand Oaks(10-11, 3-4) had six goals and teammate Jonathon Hoog added five goals at Moorpark (0-7 in league). Trevor Johnson had two goals for Moorpark.

Junior David Kohler had three goals and freshman goalie Matt Kubeck had 13 saves for visiting El Segundo (18-6, 5-0), which is alone atop the Ocean League.

Santa Monica (4-2 in league) was held scoreless after scoring the first goal of the game at the 1:32 mark of the first quarter.

PACIFIC LEAGUE

Muir 15, Hoover 7
Adam Esparza had 20 saves in goal, Mike Yost had five goals, six assists and three steals and Steve Garcia had five goals eight steals and two assists to lead Muir (7-8, 2-2).

Walker Lere led Hoover (1-12, 0-4) with four goals and teammate Alex Hernandez had 11 saves in goal.

Jovan Vranes of Newport Harbor (10-4, 2-1) had seven goals and teammate Clay Jorth added four goals at Irvine (0-3).

Jordan Watson scored four goals for visiting Palos Verdes and teammate Eric Gobrecht had 15 saves. Palos Verdes, ranked No. 5 in the Division III coaches’ poll, improved to 17-6, 3-1.

Sophomore Cory Baccus, who now has 71 goals on the season, scored eight goals and goalie Sean Cordova had 13 saves to lead Whittier (11-6, 2-1) at California (8-10, 2-1). The Cardinals are ranked No. 6 in the CIF Southern Section coaches’ poll.

Rancho Alamintos 12, Garden Grove Pacifica 1
Rancho Alamitos improved to 3-0 in league and Garden Grove Pacifica dropped to 1-15, 0-3 in the match at Golden West College.

Riverside Poly 16, Arlington 6
Colin Tewksbury had seven goals for Riverside Poly (17-2, 4-0) at Arlington (16-7, 3-1). Poly is the top-ranked team in the CIF Southern Section Division V coaches’ poll and Arlington is ranked No. 6 in the same poll.

Nick Ladig and Brock Roverud each had three goals and sophomore Morgan Wallace scored twice for host Crespi (8-10, 1-3). Alemany drops to 1-3 in league.

Eric Vreeland had nine goals and two assists to lead host Harvard-Westlake (14-2, 4-0), which scored six goals in the first four minutes of the third quarter.

Vreeland has 38 goals in his four Mission League games and 47 total for the Wolverines, who are the third-ranked team in the Southern Section Division I coaches’ poll.

Flintridge Prep 10, Webb 7
Ben Naecker had four goals and goalie Alex Sangiovanni had 12 saves to lead host Flintridge Prep (13-8, 4-1).

Junior Jordan Thompson had nine goals and sophomore Devon Borisoff scored six times to lead La Canada, which is ranked No. 1 in the CIF Southern Section Division III coaches’ poll.

Cory Busby had four goals and Rhett Horowitz scored three of his own for Garden Grove (11-7, 3-0) in the victory over Los Amigos (1-2 in league) at Golden West College.

Daniel Perdew had five goals and goalie Xande Wright had 15 saves for Damien (13-5, 1-0) in an important league opener for both teams.

Damien is the No. 3-ranked team in the CIF Southern Section coaches’ poll and Ayala is ranked No. 5. Josh Garcia led Ayala (12-6, 0-1) with two goals.

Corona del Mar 9, Servite 8 (OT)
Trailing going into the fourth quarter, 8-4, Corona del Mar (10-7), ranked No. 5 in Division I, scored four times in the final 2:20, including a game-tying goal by Jacob Murphy as the regulation clock expired.

Tom Pearson scored the winning goal in the second three-minute overtime for the Sea Kings’ fifth unanswered goal. Servite, ranked third in Division II, dropped to 7-11.

Costa Mesa 22, Sage Hill 4
Kyle Thorsness had seven goals, Adam Douglas and Evan Spencer each had four goals and Matt Jaroflawski had eight saves to lead host Costa Mesa (12-3, 4-0), which is ranked No. 10 in the CIF Southern Section Division II coaches’ poll. Sage Hill drops to 10-7.

Long Beach Wilson 10, Capistrano Valley 3
Chris Ward had three goals to lead the host Bruins (15-2), who substituted for several players while leading 7-1 at the half. Wilson is the top-ranked team in the Division I coaches’ poll. Capistrano Valley drops to 9-14.

Brian Campa and Brett Hays each had three goals to head host Bonita (11-4, 1-0), the top-ranked team in the Division VI coaches’ poll, to a 13-7 victory at Las Flores Park in La Verne. Ryan Allred added seven steals for Bonita. Joey Rassich had three goals to lead Charter Oak (13-5-1, 0-1), ranked No. 4 in Division VI.

Chris Ragueta had eight goals, five assists and three steals and Boris Torres had five goals, three assists and three steals to lead host Cathedral (13-2).

Mater Dei drops to 7-6 overall.

David Kohler had four goals including the go-ahead goal with 9 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. Cameron Hughes also had four goals and Steve Homeyer scored once for host El Segundo (17-6), which is ranked No. 2 in the Division VI coaches’ poll. Freshman goalie Matt Kubeck had 16 saves for Eagles, who trailed the entire game.

Jesse Tottell and Alex Lovell each scored four goals for the third-ranked Dolphins (14-6).

La Palma Kennedy 14, Garden Grove Pacifica 6
Joe Smith had two goals to lead Pacifica (1-14).

Oaks Christian 16, Villanova Prep 1
Ryan Balikian had five goals and Sam Duimovich and Manuel Gonzalez each scored three times for Oaks Christian (12-4, 2-0).
