CONDOR LEAGUE

Villanova Prep 14, Thacher 4
No. 2 singles player Lauren Sims swept three sets without dropping a game and No. 1 player Gabriella Zapata won surrendered just one game in winning three sets, 6-0, 6-0, 6-1, for Villanova Prep (11-1, 3-0) in a victory over visiting Thacher.

Villanova Prep’s Theresa Meler and Katie Austin lost their first two sets of the day at No. 3 doubles, but the pair rallied from a 2-5 deficit to defeat Thacher’s No. 1 team of Dana Gal and Sara Eckhardt in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (7-5). Meler and Austin jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the tie-breaker, but Gal and Eckhardt rebounded to tie the score at 5-5 before the Villanova Prep duo won the last two points to close out the set.

NONLEAGUE

Dana Hills 13, Harvard-Westlake 5
Playing without No. 1 player Hilary Barte and No. 3 player Natalie Zalevsky, Harvard-Westlake (8-3), ranked No. 4 in the Southern Section Division I, dropped eight of nine singles sets and was upset by Dana Hills, the eighth-ranked team in the division.

Barte, a sophomore who is No. 9 in USTA girls’ 18 division rankings in Southern California, attended the match but had been hit by flu symptoms and fell ill prior to the start of play. The junior Zalevsky suffered a strained abdominal muscle in the Wolverines’ previous match.

Dana Hills (12-3) took advantage of the Harvard-Westlake players’ absences as the Dolphins’ No. 1 player, Christina Tan dropped just two game in winning three sets, 6-0, 6-2, 6-0, and No. 2 player Brooke Pletcher won, 6-1, 6-4, 6-1.

Harvard-Westlake fell to 8-3.

ACADEMY LEAGUE

St. Margaret’s 14, Capistrano Valley Christian 4
Katherine McIntyre and Audrey Jacobson won three sets, 6-0, 6-0, 6-2, at No. 1 doubles for St. Margaret’s at Nellie Gail Ranch Tennis and Swim Club in Laguna Hills.

The No. 1 doubles team of Debi Filipovich and Kristina Drzymkowski defeated the St. Margaret’s No. 2 team Tiffany Huang and Hanna Lee, 7-6 (7-4), for Capistano Valley Christian (3-10, 2-7).

BASELINE LEAGUE

Upland 14, Alta Loma 4
Kelly Griffith, Mae Osias and Lauren Saket all swept in singles to lead Upland to victory. Amanda Bonson and Juliann Tang swept at No. 1 doubles for the Highlanders.

Host Upland is 15-1 overall and 8-0 in league play.

MARMONTE LEAGUE

Westlake 17, Royal 1
Katie McGrath and Bittara Blaine swept Nos. 1 and 3 singles, respectively, both by scores of 6-2, 6-0 and 6-0 to lead host Westlake (7-6, 6-4).

Kate Edwards and Marissa Cowan swept No. 1 doubles, 6-0, 6-1, 6-1, for the Warriors.Royal drops to 2-12, 0-10.

Viewpoint 12, Buckley 6
Freshman Samantha Yeung (25-11) swept No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-1, 6-1, to lead host Viewpoint (8-6, 4-3).

Freshmen Sarah Samarrai and Brittany Beisswanger improved to 29-10 as a doubles team by sweeping No. 1 doubles, 7-5, 6-0, 6-1, for the Patriots, who started five freshmen.

PACIFIC LEAGUE

Arcadia 12, Crescenta Valley 6
Lisa Boi and Alda Karic swept No. 1 doubles, 7-5, 6-2, 6-4, to lead host Arcadia (17-0, 8-0).

Daniela Boee swept No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-1, 6-0, for the Apaches. Crescenta Valley is 5-3 in league.

PREP LEAGUE

Chadwick 13, Pasadena Poly 5
Swati Yanamadala, Bridget Bartlett and Brittany Link each swept at singles for host Chadwick (9-2, 7-1) at Peninsula Racket Club. The Dolphins are ranked No. 3 in the Division III coaches’ poll.

SAN GABRIEL VALLEY LEAGUE

Gabby Gomez swept, 6-1, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 1 singles and Stella Mancillas and Jazmine Zuniga swept at No. 1 doubles, 6-2, 6-3, 6-0, to lead host Lynwood (15-1, 9-0) over Paramount (7-5, 3-5).

Jordan Dockendorf swept at love and Julie Onishenko dropped only one game in sweeping in singles for host Dos Pueblos (15-3).

Twin sisters Morgan and Lindsay Enriquez swept at No. 1 doubles for the Chargers.

Harvard-Westlake 11, Mater Dei 7
Hilary Barte swept No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-2, 6-1, for visiting Harvard-Westlake (8-2), the fourth-ranked team in Division I.

Mater Dei, ranked No. 9 in Division I, is 9-4.

St. Margaret’s 15, Oxford Academy 3
St. Margaret’s won all nine singles sets to improve to 6-4 overall and 5-3 in league with the win over Oxford Academy (7-7, 4-4) at San Clemente Tennis Club.

ALMONT LEAGUE

Keppel 16, Alhambra 2
No. 1 singles player Amber Marsden swept her sets at love to improve to 42-3 as Keppel (12-5, 6-1) didn’t drop a set in singles play. Alhambra is 11-8, 3-4.

Schurr 13, San Gabriel 5
No. 1 singles player Sandi Chiu swept, 6-1, 6-1, 6-2, and the No. 1 doubles team of Enway Hsu and Cindy Ung also swept, 6-1, 6-2, 6-3, to lead host Schurr (7-1 in league).

BASELINE LEAGUE

Upland 13, Etiwanda 5
Amanda Donson and Juliana Tang won three matches at No. 1 doubles for visiting Upland (14-1, 7-0) while the team of Fenny Tsai and Megan Yeh won two more.

BAY LEAGUE

Mira Costa 16, South Torrance 2
Jennifer Wahba won, 6-0, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 2 singles to pace the visiting Mustangs (14-1, 6-1), ranked No. 7 in the Southern Section Division I coaches’ poll. The No. 3 doubles team of Kratai Srikier and Allie Wahba also won, 6-0, 6-1, 6-0, for Mira Costa.

Pensinsula 14, West Torrance 4
Tiffany Liu swept three doubles sets with different partners, 6-0 with Erica Schweyer, 6-2 with Melissa Jackson and 7-5 with Paige Weber, to lead Pensinula (13-0, 6-0), the No. 1 ranked team in the Division I coaches’ poll. West Torrance fell to 0-6 in league play.

CENTURY LEAGUE

El Modena 17, El Dorado 1
The No. 2 doubles team of Krista De Lille and Melinda Weiss swept, 6-3, 6-1, 6-2, and the No. 3 doubles team of Ashton Morris and Kalin Eshelmen swept, 7-6 (3), 6-0, 6-1, to lead El Modena (12-2, 6-1) past visiting El Dorado (15-5, 4-3).

Villa Park 12, Brea Olinda 6
The No. 1 singles player for Villa Park, Dahra Zamudio, swept, 6-1, 6-0, 6-2, and No. 2 singles player Sherie Lawson swept, 6-0, 6-0, 6-3. Host Villa Park improved to 10-3, 7-0 and Brea dropped to 9-8, 1-6.

CHANNEL LEAGUE

Dos Pueblos 18, Buena 0
Jordan Dockendorf and Julie Onishenko swept easily at Nos. 1 and 2 singles to lead Dos Pueblos (14-3, 5-2) to the victory. The Chargers substituted in several junior varsity players who won sets, including Linnea Sandin, 7-5, at No. 2 singles.

Also starting and sweeping were Sharon Moua and Alison Nain, 6-1, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 3 doubles while JV players Krystle Smith and Anna Murphy and Rebecca Smith and Mackenzie Smith also won their sets, 6-2 and 6-4, respectively. Buena falls to 7-8, 0-5.

DE ANZA LEAGUE

Beaumont 18, Yucca Valley 0
The No. 1 doubles team of Alysha Baldi and Allyson Mailhon swept without losing a game and the No. 3 team of Sarah Gallooway and Brooke Hebenton lost only one game in sweeping for Beaumont.

DESERT VALLEY LEAGUE

Palm Desert 15, Palm Springs 3
Palm Desert (10-1, 6-0), ranked No. 5 in Division II, got singles sweeps at love from Brittany Blaylock, Jordan Heitzner an Julie Thorpe at Palm Springs. Palm Desert is now 174-0 in league dating back 17 years to when the school opened.

FOOTHILL LEAGUE

Hart 9, Burbank Burroughs 9 (Hart wins, 76-73, on games)
Kelly Weston and Shannon Doherty, Hart’s No. 1 doubles team, took all three of the matches while losing only three games in the three sets to help decide the tight match and give the Indians (4-8, 4-3) the win at Burroughs (4-6, 3-4).

FREEWAY LEAGUE

Troy 18, La Habra 0
Casmino Ciavanu at No. 1 singles and Clare Fermin at No. 2 singles each swept at love for host Troy (12-2, 6-0), which is ranked No. 2 in the Division II coaches’ poll. La Habra drops to 5-4, 3-2.

FRONTIER LEAGUE

Malibu 13, Nordhoff 5
Singles players Kelly Stewart, Dayla Perelman and Chelsea Mosser all swept their sets, dropping only one game, for the host Sharks (7-3, 3-0), ranked No. 1 in the Southern Section Division V coaches’ poll. Malibu’s No. 2 doubles team also swept its sets. Nordhoff, No. 8 in Division V, fell to 2-1 in league.

GARDEN GROVE LEAGUE

Garden Grove 15, Santiago 3
No. 1 Trina Tran swept, 6-1, 6-3, 6-3, and the No. 1 doubles team of Anna Ngo and Linda Lam swept as well, 6-1, 6-4, 6-0, for host Garden Grove (7-2 in league).

GOLDEN WEST LEAGUE

Costa Mesa 14, Orange 4
Evelyn Wallace swept, 6-0, 6-4, 6-1, at No. 3 singles to record her 10th, 11th and 12th consecutive victories and all three doubles teams swept to lead Costa Mesa (8-8, 8-3) to the victory. Anh Le and Gwen Martinez swept, 6-2, 6-0, 6-4, at No. 1 doubles, Leah Le and Hong-An Nguyen swept, 7-5, 6-0, 7-5, at No. 2 doubles and Maria Garcia and Uyen Le swept, 6-4, 6-1, 6-4, at No. 3 doubles.

IVY LEAGUE

King 13, Riverside Poly 5
Kendra Faulkner swept her three singles matches by scores of 6-1, 6-4 and 6-3 for Riverside King (13-2, 5-0).

MARMONTE LEAGUE

Calabasas 17, Royal 1
Amanda Fink and Kristen McVitty swept at love in singles and the No. 2 doubles team of Jen Bernstein and Jilli Schnitman also swept at love to lead Calabasas (12-0, 10-0) past Royal (2-11, 0-9). Calabasas is the No. 2-ranked team in the Division I coaches’ poll.

Moorpark 14, Simi Valley 4
Michelle Dokic didn’t drop a game in sweeping at No. 1 singles to lead Moorpark (7-2 in league), which swept all nine singles sets. Anna Karra swept, 6-3, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 2 singles and Jillian Baker swept, 6-0, 6-2, 6-0, at No. 3 singles.

Newbury Park 12, Agoura 6
Tammy Wu and Caitlin McBride, playing No. 1 doubles for Newbury Park (4-9, 3-6), swept, 6-1, 6-2, 6-2, at Agoura (7-6, 4-5). Newbury Park’s No. 2 and 3 doubles’ teams also swept. Blair Brzeski, playing No. 2 singles for Agoura (7-6, 4-5), swept, 6-4, 6-2, 6-1.

Westlake 10, Thousand Oaks 8
Kate Edwards and Marissa Cowan swept at No. 2 doubles, 6-4, 6-3, 6-3, and the No. 3 doubles team of Bittara Blaine and Tiffany Russell also swept, 7-5, 6-1, 6-2, to lead host Westlake (6-6, 5-4). Thousand Oaks is 9-4 overall and 6-3 in league.

MISSION LEAGUE

Harvard-Westlake 17, Louisville 1
Natasha Brown swept at No. 1 singles, 7-5, 6-0, 6-0, and at No. 2 singles Natalie Galezski swept, 6-4, 6-1, 6-1, to lead host Harvard-Westlake (7-2, 5-0), which is the No. 4-ranked team in the CIF Southern Section Division I coaches’ poll. Louisville dropped to 5-7, 0-4.

MONTVIEW LEAGUE

Gladstone 13, Sierra Vista 5
Liz Ortiz swept, 6-3, 6-4, 6-1, at No. 1 singles, Ibis Romero and Stephanie Perez swept at No. 1 doubles, 6-2, 6-4, 6-4, and at No 2 doubels Vanessa Ortiz and Anel Rivera swept, 6-3, 6-2, 6-1, lead Gladstone (10-2, 6-0).

Host Sierra Vista drops to 4-2 in league.

The victory pulled the Gladiators away from the league competition and with a two-game lead over Sierra Vista and the season series finished, Gladstone is the favorite to take the league title.

OLYMPIC LEAGUE

Brentwood 15, Crossroads 3
Jane Rosenthal swept at No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-1, 6-4, to lead host Brentwood (9-3, 5-0), which is alone atop the Olympic League standings and the No. 1-ranked team in the Division III coaches’ poll.

ORANGE LEAGUE
Savanna 9, Magnolia 9 (Savanna wins on games, 71-69)No. 1 singles player Bianca Tobias won two sets, 6-1, 6-0, and No. 2 singles player Jene Mendoza won two sets, 6-3, 6-1, to help give Savanna (13-3, 8-0) its winning margin in games over Magnolia (10-6, 6-2).

PACIFIC LEAGUE

Arcadia 12, Pasadena 6
Arcadia got strong performances from its doubles teams as the Apaches (16-0, 7-0) won eight of nine on that side in winning at Pasadena. The No. 1 doubles team of Alda Karic and Lisa Li won by scores of 6-3, 6-1 and 6-0 while the No. 2 team of Kristen Lee and Stephanie Garcia won by scores of 6-2, 6-0 and 6-0

PACIFIC COAST LEAGUE

Corona del Mar 13, University 5
Michelle Atkins swept at No. 3 singles, 6-4, 7-5, 6-0, and at No. 2 doubles Miranda Young and Allie Walters swept, 6-4, 6-1, 6-0, for host Corona del Mar (12-2, 6-0), which is ranked No. 3 in the Division I coaches’ poll.

Young is undefeated in doubles play this year, going 26-0. Irvine Univsersity dropped to 6-8, 1-5.

PACIFIC VIEW LEAGUE

Oxnard 18, Channel Islands 0
Oxnard (9-3, 9-0) sat most of its top players but still recorded a one-sided win at home.

PREP LEAGUE

Westridge 12, Flintridge Prep 6
The No. 1 doubles team of Charlotte King and Mimi Wang swept their matches, 6-0, 7-5, 6-1, for Westridge (7-5, 4-4) at the Pasadena Racquet Center. No. 1 singles players for Flintridge (3-12, 0-5), Jennifer Ouyang, swept, 6-1, 6-0, 6-1.

RIO HONDO LEAGUE

Temple City 17, Monrovia 1
Tiffany Lee swept at No.1 singles, 6-0, 6-0, 6-1, to lead Temple City (8-5, 4-3) at Monrovia.

SAN GABRIEL VALLEY LEAGUE

Lynwood 10, Gahr 8
Stella Mancillas and Jazmine Zuniga, playing No. 1 doubles for Lynwood (14-, 8-0), defeated Paola Plaza and Katherine Taroma, 6-1, in the deciding match at Cerritos College.

Gabby Gomez, playing No. 1 singles for Lynwood (14-1, 8-0), swept, 6-0, 6-3, 6-1. Gahr is 10-3 and 5-2.

SEA VIEW LEAGUE

Woodbridge 13, Aliso Niguel 5
Ashley Williams didn’t drop a game at No. 1 singles to lead Woodbridge (10-5, 6-0), which is ranked No. 10 in the Division I coaches’ poll.

SERRA LEAGUE

Mater Dei 14, Rosary 4
Junior Cassidy Grandstaff, playing No. 2 singles for Mater Dei (9-3, 6-0), swept, 6-2, 6-2, 6-4, and Molly McGlone and Cara Kells, the No. 2 doubles team for the Monarchs, ranked No. 9 in Division I, also swept, 6-2, 6-4, 6-2, against visiting Rosary (6-0, 3-3).

SOUTH COAST LEAGUE

Dana Hills 12, Mission Viejo 6
Katie Debowski and Emma Bronowicki of Dana Hills (10-3, 7-0) won two sets, 6-1, 6-1, before being subbed out and teammate Brooke Fletcher won two of three sets, 6-0, 6-0, losing only to Maggie Mello of Mission Viejo (4-3 in league).

Dana Hills is the No. 8-ranked team in the CIF Southern Section Division I coaches’ poll.

SUNSET LEAGUE

Fountain Valley 12, Edison 6
Fountain Valley, ranked No. 8 in Division II, saw its top two singles players, No. 1 Brooke Bartlett and No. 2 Margaret Pietrowski sweep their matches, 6-0, 6-0, 6-0, and 6-1, 6-2, 6-0, respectively, against Edison, ranked No. 9 in Division II.

Fountain Valley improves its record to 11-2, 5-1 with the victory at Edison (8-3, 3-3)

Los Alamitos 18, Esperanza 0
It was no contest at Esperanza as Los Alamitos (8-2, 5-1) rolled to an easy road win. The Griffins are tied at No. 10 in the Division II coaches’ poll.

SUNSHINE LEAGUE

Marymount 15, La Salle 3
Rosemary Miller, playing No. 2 singles for Marymount (5-4, 2-0), swept at love against visiting La Salle (0-2).

NONLEAGUE

Villanova Prep 17, Oaks Christian 1
Alexandra Gibbs and Ari Lujan, playing No. 1 doubles for Villanova Prep (10-1) and Niamh Daly and Sophia Mills, at No. 2, swept their sets at the Pacific Tennis Center in Westlake Village.

Villanova Prep is ranked No. 3 in Division IV. Oaks Christian had to forfeit its No. 2 and 3 singles due to injury. The two teams met earlier in the year with Villanova winning, 10-8.

Monday, Oct. 18

ACADEMY LEAGUE

Sage Hill 16, Capistrano Valley Christian 2
Sarah Flynn and Alle Hsu swept at No. 1 doubles, 6-0, 6-0, 6-0, and Sarah Geocaris swept at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 7-5, 6-0, to lead Sage Hill (8-5, 6-1) at Capistrano Valley Christian (3-9, 2-7).

BAY LEAGUEMira Costa 17, North Torrance 1
Host Mira Costam, the No. 7-ranked team in the Division I coaches’ poll, improved to 13-1, 5-1 with the victory over North Torrance (2-7 overall).

DE ANZA LEAGUE

Beaumont 18, Big Bear 0
Autumn Kong swept her sets at No. 1 singles without losing a game, as did the No. 2 doubles team of Kameryn Hebenton and Hannah Price, to lead Beaumont.

DESERT VALLEY LEAGUE

Palm Desert 14, La Quinta 4
Brittany Blalock has not lost in her last 21 sets after sweeping at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-0, 6-0, for host Palm Desert (9-1, 5-0), which is ranked No. 5 in the Division II coaches’ poll.

The Aztecs also have a winning streak, having not lost in 173 consecutive league matches throughout the school’s 16-year existence.

SAN GABRIEL VALLEY LEAGUE

Lynwood 16, Downey 2
The No. 1 Doubles team of Stella Mancillas and Jazmin Zuniga swept, 6-3, 6-1, 6-3, for host Lynwood (13-1, 7-0). The pair hasn’t lost in 21 sets during league play. Downey drops to 0-11, 0-7.

SOUTHWESTERN LEAGUE

Chaparral 17, Temescal Canyon 1
Nazlie Ghazal swept her No. 1 singles sets at love, improving her record to 25-0 with only three games lost, and Carly de Anda swept, 6-2, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 3 singles for Chaparral (8-6, 4-1). Temescal Canyon falls to 0-5 in league.
