CONDOR LEAGUE

Villanova Prep 14, Thacher 4
No. 2 singles player Lauren Sims swept three sets without dropping a game and No. 1 player Gabriella Zapata won surrendered just one game in winning three sets, 6-0, 6-0, 6-1, for Villanova Prep (11-1, 3-0) in a victory over visiting Thacher.

Villanova Prep’s Theresa Meler and Katie Austin lost their first two sets of the day at No. 3 doubles, but the pair rallied from a 2-5 deficit to defeat Thacher’s No. 1 team of Dana Gal and Sara Eckhardt in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (7-5). Meler and Austin jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the tie-breaker, but Gal and Eckhardt rebounded to tie the score at 5-5 before the Villanova Prep duo won the last two points to close out the set.

NONLEAGUE

Dana Hills 13, Harvard-Westlake 5
Playing without No. 1 player Hilary Barte and No. 3 player Natalie Zalevsky, Harvard-Westlake (8-3), ranked No. 4 in the Southern Section Division I, dropped eight of nine singles sets and was upset by Dana Hills, the eighth-ranked team in the division.

Barte, a sophomore who is No. 9 in USTA girls’ 18 division rankings in Southern California, attended the match but had been hit by flu symptoms and fell ill prior to the start of play. The junior Zalevsky suffered a strained abdominal muscle in the Wolverines’ previous match.

Dana Hills (12-3) took advantage of the Harvard-Westlake players’ absences as the Dolphins’ No. 1 player, Christina Tan dropped just two game in winning three sets, 6-0, 6-2, 6-0, and No. 2 player Brooke Pletcher won, 6-1, 6-4, 6-1.

Harvard-Westlake fell to 8-3.

ACADEMY LEAGUE

St. Margaret’s 14, Capistrano Valley Christian 4
Katherine McIntyre and Audrey Jacobson won three sets, 6-0, 6-0, 6-2, at No. 1 doubles for St. Margaret’s at Nellie Gail Ranch Tennis and Swim Club in Laguna Hills.

The No. 1 doubles team of Debi Filipovich and Kristina Drzymkowski defeated the St. Margaret’s No. 2 team Tiffany Huang and Hanna Lee, 7-6 (7-4), for Capistano Valley Christian (3-10, 2-7).

BASELINE LEAGUE

Upland 14, Alta Loma 4
Kelly Griffith, Mae Osias and Lauren Saket all swept in singles to lead Upland to victory. Amanda Bonson and Juliann Tang swept at No. 1 doubles for the Highlanders.

No. 1 singles player Amber Marsden swept her sets at love to improve to 42-3 as Keppel (12-5, 6-1) didn’t drop a set in singles play. Alhambra is 11-8, 3-4.

No. 1 singles player Sandi Chiu swept, 6-1, 6-1, 6-2, and the No. 1 doubles team of Enway Hsu and Cindy Ung also swept, 6-1, 6-2, 6-3, to lead host Schurr (7-1 in league).

Tiffany Liu swept three doubles sets with different partners, 6-0 with Erica Schweyer, 6-2 with Melissa Jackson and 7-5 with Paige Weber, to lead Pensinula (13-0, 6-0), the No. 1 ranked team in the Division I coaches’ poll. West Torrance fell to 0-6 in league play.

The No. 2 doubles team of Krista De Lille and Melinda Weiss swept, 6-3, 6-1, 6-2, and the No. 3 doubles team of Ashton Morris and Kalin Eshelmen swept, 7-6 (3), 6-0, 6-1, to lead El Modena (12-2, 6-1) past visiting El Dorado (15-5, 4-3).

Villa Park 12, Brea Olinda 6
The No. 1 singles player for Villa Park, Dahra Zamudio, swept, 6-1, 6-0, 6-2, and No. 2 singles player Sherie Lawson swept, 6-0, 6-0, 6-3. Host Villa Park improved to 10-3, 7-0 and Brea dropped to 9-8, 1-6.

CHANNEL LEAGUE

Dos Pueblos 18, Buena 0
Jordan Dockendorf and Julie Onishenko swept easily at Nos. 1 and 2 singles to lead Dos Pueblos (14-3, 5-2) to the victory. The Chargers substituted in several junior varsity players who won sets, including Linnea Sandin, 7-5, at No. 2 singles.

Also starting and sweeping were Sharon Moua and Alison Nain, 6-1, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 3 doubles while JV players Krystle Smith and Anna Murphy and Rebecca Smith and Mackenzie Smith also won their sets, 6-2 and 6-4, respectively. Buena falls to 7-8, 0-5.

Beaumont 18, Yucca Valley 0
The No. 1 doubles team of Alysha Baldi and Allyson Mailhon swept without losing a game and the No. 3 team of Sarah Gallooway and Brooke Hebenton lost only one game in sweeping for Beaumont.

Palm Desert 15, Palm Springs 3
Palm Desert (10-1, 6-0), ranked No. 5 in Division II, got singles sweeps at love from Brittany Blaylock, Jordan Heitzner an Julie Thorpe at Palm Springs. Palm Desert is now 174-0 in league dating back 17 years to when the school opened.

FOOTHILL LEAGUE

Hart 9, Burbank Burroughs 9 (Hart wins, 76-73, on games)
Kelly Weston and Shannon Doherty, Hart’s No. 1 doubles team, took all three of the matches while losing only three games in the three sets to help decide the tight match and give the Indians (4-8, 4-3) the win at Burroughs (4-6, 3-4).

Singles players Kelly Stewart, Dayla Perelman and Chelsea Mosser all swept their sets, dropping only one game, for the host Sharks (7-3, 3-0), ranked No. 1 in the Southern Section Division V coaches’ poll. Malibu’s No. 2 doubles team also swept its sets. Nordhoff, No. 8 in Division V, fell to 2-1 in league.

No. 1 Trina Tran swept, 6-1, 6-3, 6-3, and the No. 1 doubles team of Anna Ngo and Linda Lam swept as well, 6-1, 6-4, 6-0, for host Garden Grove (7-2 in league).

Michelle Dokic didn’t drop a game in sweeping at No. 1 singles to lead Moorpark (7-2 in league), which swept all nine singles sets. Anna Karra swept, 6-3, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 2 singles and Jillian Baker swept, 6-0, 6-2, 6-0, at No. 3 singles.

Liz Ortiz swept, 6-3, 6-4, 6-1, at No. 1 singles, Ibis Romero and Stephanie Perez swept at No. 1 doubles, 6-2, 6-4, 6-4, and at No 2 doubels Vanessa Ortiz and Anel Rivera swept, 6-3, 6-2, 6-1, lead Gladstone (10-2, 6-0).

Host Sierra Vista drops to 4-2 in league.

The victory pulled the Gladiators away from the league competition and with a two-game lead over Sierra Vista and the season series finished, Gladstone is the favorite to take the league title.

OLYMPIC LEAGUE

Brentwood 15, Crossroads 3
Jane Rosenthal swept at No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-1, 6-4, to lead host Brentwood (9-3, 5-0), which is alone atop the Olympic League standings and the No. 1-ranked team in the Division III coaches’ poll.

ORANGE LEAGUE
Savanna 9, Magnolia 9 (Savanna wins on games, 71-69)No. 1 singles player Bianca Tobias won two sets, 6-1, 6-0, and No. 2 singles player Jene Mendoza won two sets, 6-3, 6-1, to help give Savanna (13-3, 8-0) its winning margin in games over Magnolia (10-6, 6-2).

PACIFIC LEAGUE

Arcadia 12, Pasadena 6
Arcadia got strong performances from its doubles teams as the Apaches (16-0, 7-0) won eight of nine on that side in winning at Pasadena. The No. 1 doubles team of Alda Karic and Lisa Li won by scores of 6-3, 6-1 and 6-0 while the No. 2 team of Kristen Lee and Stephanie Garcia won by scores of 6-2, 6-0 and 6-0

Corona del Mar 13, University 5
Michelle Atkins swept at No. 3 singles, 6-4, 7-5, 6-0, and at No. 2 doubles Miranda Young and Allie Walters swept, 6-4, 6-1, 6-0, for host Corona del Mar (12-2, 6-0), which is ranked No. 3 in the Division I coaches’ poll.

Young is undefeated in doubles play this year, going 26-0. Irvine Univsersity dropped to 6-8, 1-5.

SOUTH COAST LEAGUE

Dana Hills 12, Mission Viejo 6
Katie Debowski and Emma Bronowicki of Dana Hills (10-3, 7-0) won two sets, 6-1, 6-1, before being subbed out and teammate Brooke Fletcher won two of three sets, 6-0, 6-0, losing only to Maggie Mello of Mission Viejo (4-3 in league).

Dana Hills is the No. 8-ranked team in the CIF Southern Section Division I coaches’ poll.

SUNSET LEAGUE

Fountain Valley, ranked No. 8 in Division II, saw its top two singles players, No. 1 Brooke Bartlett and No. 2 Margaret Pietrowski sweep their matches, 6-0, 6-0, 6-0, and 6-1, 6-2, 6-0, respectively, against Edison, ranked No. 9 in Division II.

Fountain Valley improves its record to 11-2, 5-1 with the victory at Edison (8-3, 3-3)

Los Alamitos 18, Esperanza 0
It was no contest at Esperanza as Los Alamitos (8-2, 5-1) rolled to an easy road win. The Griffins are tied at No. 10 in the Division II coaches’ poll.

SUNSHINE LEAGUE

Marymount 15, La Salle 3
Rosemary Miller, playing No. 2 singles for Marymount (5-4, 2-0), swept at love against visiting La Salle (0-2).

NONLEAGUE

Villanova Prep 17, Oaks Christian 1
Alexandra Gibbs and Ari Lujan, playing No. 1 doubles for Villanova Prep (10-1) and Niamh Daly and Sophia Mills, at No. 2, swept their sets at the Pacific Tennis Center in Westlake Village.

Villanova Prep is ranked No. 3 in Division IV. Oaks Christian had to forfeit its No. 2 and 3 singles due to injury. The two teams met earlier in the year with Villanova winning, 10-8.

Sarah Flynn and Alle Hsu swept at No. 1 doubles, 6-0, 6-0, 6-0, and Sarah Geocaris swept at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 7-5, 6-0, to lead Sage Hill (8-5, 6-1) at Capistrano Valley Christian (3-9, 2-7).

BAY LEAGUEMira Costa 17, North Torrance 1
Host Mira Costam, the No. 7-ranked team in the Division I coaches’ poll, improved to 13-1, 5-1 with the victory over North Torrance (2-7 overall).

Autumn Kong swept her sets at No. 1 singles without losing a game, as did the No. 2 doubles team of Kameryn Hebenton and Hannah Price, to lead Beaumont.

Brittany Blalock has not lost in her last 21 sets after sweeping at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-0, 6-0, for host Palm Desert (9-1, 5-0), which is ranked No. 5 in the Division II coaches’ poll.

The Aztecs also have a winning streak, having not lost in 173 consecutive league matches throughout the school’s 16-year existence.

SAN GABRIEL VALLEY LEAGUE

Lynwood 16, Downey 2
The No. 1 Doubles team of Stella Mancillas and Jazmin Zuniga swept, 6-3, 6-1, 6-3, for host Lynwood (13-1, 7-0). The pair hasn’t lost in 21 sets during league play. Downey drops to 0-11, 0-7.

Chaparral 17, Temescal Canyon 1
Nazlie Ghazal swept her No. 1 singles sets at love, improving her record to 25-0 with only three games lost, and Carly de Anda swept, 6-2, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 3 singles for Chaparral (8-6, 4-1). Temescal Canyon falls to 0-5 in league.
