Brittany Bargar (9-4) pitched a four-hitter with five strikeouts and had an RBI single in the seventh inning for No. 6 Corona (10-4). Monica Montez singled to score Jackie Currie in the top of the second inning for the Panthers. Krystal Heinle pitched a five-hitter with four strikeouts for Marina (7-9).

Northwood is 9-7.

El Toro 8, El Modena 1
Stephanie Churchwell hit two home runs and had three RBIs and Amanda Ford-Feitz went three for three with two RBIs to lead No. 7 El Toro (16-4). Tanza Lewis pitched a six-hitter with four strikeouts to earn the victory. Amanda Munoz had an RBI single in the third inning for El Modena (7-6).

Fountain Valley 6, Loara 2
Taylor Valdez had a two-run triple in the first inning and Deanna Mauer hit a grand slam in the second inning for Fountain Valley (9-8). Reliever Nicole Lapier allowed one hit and struck out six batters in five innings to earn the victory.

Garden Grove Pacifica 1, Valencia 0 (11 innings)
Garden Grove Pacifica advanced through the first two rounds of the Irvine Woodbridge Classic on Saturday with two victories that totaled 20 innings.

The second-ranked Mariners (17-2) got a bases-loaded, two-run single from Stephanie Ochoa and Ashlyn Watson scored on a subsequent overthrow in the top of the ninth inning to beat La Puente Bishop Amat, 3-1, in a first-round game. The Mariners then went 11 innings to beat No. 14 Valencia in the second round, 1-0. Both games were scoreless when the international tie-breaker took effect in the ninth inning.

In the game against Valencia (10-3), which matched teams ranked No. 2 and 19 in the state, Pacifica’s Brittany Weil and Valencia’s Christina Ross had matching two-hitters, with Weil striking out 12 and Ross 15. Pacifica got the run it needed when Taylor Froelich’s hard grounder went off the glove of second baseman Whitney Lowe, allowing Ochoa to score from third.

Valencia had runners on second and third with one out in the bottom of the inning, but hit into a 1-3-5 double play, with Kortney Bell getting tagged out while scrambling back to third base.

“We played great defense, and Brittany pitched well,” Pacifica Coach Rob Weil said. “We did what we had to do to keep ourselves afloat.”

Hart 1, Peninsula 0
Robyn Kontra pitched a perfect game with 10 strikeouts for Hart (6-6-1), which won on back-to-back doubles in the top of the seventh inning. Monica Alnes pitched a four-hitter with 10 strikeouts for Peninsula (7-6).

Thousand Oaks 2, Millikan 0
Megan Spehar (five innings) and Suzy Cominski (two innings) combined for the no-hitter, while Cortney Rudloff hit a two-run home run for No. 17 Thousand Oaks (11-1). Kara Harper allowed four hits and struck out three in six innings for Millikan (11-4-1).

Jackie Cervantez pitched a five-hitter with eight strikeouts for West Covina (9-7).

Monica Montez singled in Brooke Frydendall in the top of the 10th for No. 6 Corona (9-4), which scored another two runs in the inning on fielder’s choices. Brittany Bargar (8-4) pitched a five-hitter with nine strikeouts for Corona. Kandi Henry pitched a four-hitter with five strikeouts for host Dana Hills (8-8) at Barber Park.

El Modena 3, West Valley 0
Dana Crucil pitched a three-hitter with eight strikeouts and had an RBI double for El Modena (8-5). April Lewis had an RBI triple and Ariana Munoz added a run-scoring double in the first inning for El Modena. Jessica Meza tripled for West Valley (5-8).

El Toro 5, Cerritos 1
Tanza Lewis pitched a three-hitter with seven strikeouts and had a single and a double to lead No. 7 El Toro (15-4). Corina Pendleton allowed six hits with three strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings for Cerritos (6-10).

Fountain Valley 3, Tesoro 0
Nicole Lapier pitched a perfect game with 13 strikeouts and Taylor Valdez had two doubles for Fountain Valley, which scored all three runs in the top of the seventh inning. Nicole Aaronson pitched a seven-hitter with four strikeouts and two walks for Tesoro (9-6).

Sam Hamner (14-2) threw a four-hitter and knocked in the game-winning run as the Hawks (16-4, 1-0) won their league opener. Hamner’s two-out infield single in the fifth scored the first Hawk run, and Caylinn Wallace added insurance with a solo home run in the sixth. Foothill is 9-8 and 0-1.

With scored tied 2-2 in the top of the seventh, Lauren Peterson hit a two-run home run to clinch the victory for Woodbridge (9-7, 1-0). Kelly Cabana (7-2) allowed one earned run and hit a home run in the third inning for the Warriors. Danielle Crumlich hit a home run for Irvine (4-9, 0-1).
