Championship

San Pedro 1, El Segundo 0
Ashley Esparza (14-1) pitched a one-hitter, allowing only one infield single in the seventh inning, with six strikeouts and two walks, and Jackie Conlin doubled in Stephanie Tam, who had a triple to open the sixth inning, for No. 14 San Pedro (23-3). Jessica Doucett gave up four hits and struck out eight for host El Segundo (16-6). San Pedro will host Carson at 3 p.m. on Monday to determine the Marine League championship.

Championship Semifinals

San Pedro 4, Redondo 3
Stephanie Tam singled in Kayleigh Raciak for the go-ahead run with two outs in the top of the sixth inning and Nicole Castagnola went two for four with two RBIs for host No. 14 San Pedro (22-3). Ashley Esparza (13-1) came in the top of the fifth inning with the scored tied, 3-3, to pitch a one-hitter with three strikeouts for the Pirates. Redondo is 9-10.

Consolation Round

Cerritos Valley Christian 4, Westchester 3 (9 innings)
Sami Nelson scored on a groundout in the ninth inning to lift Cerritos Valley Christian (15-4) at El Segundo.

Kristel Eddington was two for four with three RBIs and Michelle Van Duyn was three for three with two runs scored for Cerritos Valley Christian (16-4).

Notre Dame Academy 6, Santa Monica 3
Ali Trudnich was two for four with two runs scored, Sarah Holdridge was two for three with an RBI and two runs scored and Taylor Tieman was three for three for Notre Dame Academy (11-8) at El Segundo Recreation Center. Santa Monica is 16-7.

Nicole Silva hit a home run and Katerina Yale had a double for Valencia. Taylor Tieman had a double for Notre Dame Academy (11-9).

Lacy Tyler pitched all eight innings, throwing a four-hitter with nine strikeouts and no walks, and Sharla Hume singled in Tyler for the winning run to lead La Mirada (18-4).

Lacy Tyler had two hits, three RBIs and one run scored and Nikki Johansen had three hits, three runs scored and two RBIs to lift La Mirada (19-4).

Allyson Salas (11-3) pitched a five-hitter with 11 strikeouts and Sara Smith went two for two with a triple and drove in one run on a bunt for L.A. Baptist (13-4-1). La Salle is 17-5.

Jenny Belak (5-1) allowed one hit in four innings and went four for four with seven RBIs, including a three-run home run in the fourth inning, Jenny White went two for three with three RBIs and three runs scored and Kathleen Salvo went three for three with one run scored and two RBIs for La Salle (17-4).

Freshman Michelle Tabone went two for four and junior Marlena Green pitched a complete-game shutout with five strikeouts and one walk for visiting Oak Park (10-7), which will play two games in the consolation round next weekend. Parclete improves to 12-9.

Freshman Michelle Tabone went three for four with one RBI and one run scored and senior Ashley Scott went one for two with a double and two RBIs and freshman Kylie Abrams pitched a complete game, striking out nine and walking one, for visiting Oak Park (10-6). Carpenteria is 4-13.

THOUSAND OAKS

Green Division
Championship Second Round

Hart 1, Valencia 0
Hart (13-8-1), which began the season in the top 25 but dropped out by the first regular season ranking, has won four of its last six games when facing ranked opponents, including two over Valencia - a Foothill League rival it lost to on Thursday, 1-0, on Christina Ross’ perfect game. Hart exacted a measure of revenge against Courtney Baughman (5-1), who pitched a two-hitter and struck out eight. Hart’s Amanda Sreden hit a sun double in the third inning, took third on a sacrifice and scored on a fielder’s choice to right field. Valencia dropped to 17-5.

Mater Dei 8, Westlake 2
Melissa Mendoza was two for four, including a double, with four RBIs, Briana Santos was two for four with two RBIs, Tonye McCorkle was two for three, including a double, with two runs scored, and right-hander Britni Rodriguez (9-2) gave up one earned run on six hits and struck out eight in six innings for No. 3 Mater Dei (19-3-2). Ava Amini took the loss for Westlake (11-9). Mater Dei will play Hart in a semifinal Saturday at 2 p.m.

Riverside Poly 6, El Modena 0
Mindy Cowles (10-3) pitched a one-hitter and struck out seven for No. 7 Riverside Poly (16-4). Nikki Packwood had two hits and two RBIs against losing pitcher Jessica Foley. Amanda Myers also had two hits and scored twice, and Cowles had two hits, including a two-run double. Riverside Poly will play Rosary in a semifinal Saturday at 2 p.m. El Modena is 15-8.

Rosary 2, Thousand Oaks 0 (5 innings, darkness)
Nicole Churnock led off the game on an error by the shortstop, and two walks later she stole home while the Lancers were attempting a pickoff at first base.

Rosary added another run in the third inning, when it got its only two hits against losing pitcher Suzanne Cominski (7-3), who pitched both games because of a knee injury to Megan Spehar.

Cristen Lee singled, took second on a fly ball, and after an intentional walk to Kaitlin Cochran, Lee scored on Taylor Peyton’s two-out single.

Peyton (10-4) limited Thousand Oaks to three hits, struck out two, walked three, hit one - and got out of a no-out, bases loaded jam in the third inning with a ground ball to second by Genna Allen, a strikeout of Melissa Smith, and a popup by the cleanup hitter, Chelsea Berthaume.

Cominski struck out five and walked five, including Cochran twice intentionally.

The lights at Thousand Oaks Community Center went out in the sixth inning when Rosary had runners at second and third with one out, and the game reverted back to the fifth inning

“We certainly had questions marks in our minds after getting trounced by Bishop Amat (14-3), but to win two extra-inning league games and beating two teams with 18 wins does a lot for our confidence,” said Tom Tice, Rosary’s coach. “Hopefully, this shows that our pitchers are turning the corner.”

Consolation Second Round

Freshman Lindsey Dean (7-1) continued to shine for No. 23 Camarillo (14-7), pitching a five-hitter, as the Scorpions advanced to the consolation semifinals against Royal next Saturday.

Millikan 1, Righetti 1 (9 innings)
The lights went out at the Thousand Oaks Community Center in the ninth inning, and the game will be completed sometime during the week, according to tournament director Gary Walin.

Freshman Annissa Lagos went three for three with two singles and one triple for Camarillo (13-7).

Mater Dei 4, Royal 1
Lauren Greer had a two-run triple in the first inning against Royal pitcher Jordan McPherson, and Kristen Pocock added a two-run home run for No. 3 Mater Dei (18-4-2). No. 25 Royal dropped to 14-5. Ariana Cervantes (2-0), starting in place of of sore-armed Briana Santos, pitched a five-hitter and struck out four for the Monarchs.

Riverside Poly 2, Los Alamitos 0
Mindy Cowles of No. 7 Riverside Poly allowed only two hits against Los Alamitos. With the bases loaded in the fifth inning, Cowles delivered a sacrifice fly for one run. Teammate Sammi Parks tripled and scored on Nikki Packwood’s single in the sixth inning.

Rosary 3, Righetti 0
Freshman pitcher Maryanne Cronin (7-3) threw a three-hitter with seven strikeouts, no-hitting Righetti (18-6) for 4 2/3 innings. The Royals (16-7) scored in the second inning on Shannon Pooler’s RBI single, and two in the sixth on Katie Chifcian’s home run. Rosary got five hits off Clarissa Segura (8-4), who struck out three.

Valencia 2, El Camino Real 0
Christina Ross (12-4) pitched a two-hitter and struck out 10 to record her seventh shutout for Valencia. Danielle Maricle had a two-run single in the first inning for the Vikings (17-4).

Jessie Turley hit a grand slam and had three runs scored, Tiffany Curtis added a home run and three runs scored for Newbury Park (12-8) at Los Cerritos Middle School. Whitney Born had three doubles and an RBI and Caitlin Bailey had a triple, two RBIs and two runs scored for the Panthers.

Monique Wuence (13-2) had 14 strikeouts and allowed one hit over seven innings and went two for three with an RBI and Stephanie Hernandez went two for three with an RBI to lead visiting Arroyo (14-2, 6-0) over Gabrielino (1-5 league).

Corona Santiago 6, Corona Centennial 0
Senior right-hander Taryne Mowatt (17-1), who has signed with the University of Arizona, pitched a four-hitter with 12 strikeouts and freshman Kelsey Bruder had two hits and one RBI as Santiago (21-1, 11-0), ranked No. 1 by The Times, won its 18th consecutive game. Kelsey Delannoy singled in the top of the third inning to score the Sharks’ first two runs. Santiago needs one more victory to clinch at least a share of its fourth consecutive league title.

Senior Daniela Urincho (15-4), who will be playing for BYU next year, pitched a three-hitter and went two for four with a single and a RBI triple in the fourth inning to lead visiting No. 4 Norco (17-4, 8-3). No. 5 Corona is 15-8, 7-4.

Lizette Casillas went three for four with two runs scored and Amanda Klimczak (16-2) threw a two-hitter with seven strikeouts for host No. 16 Diamond Ranch (18-2, 10-1).

Isabel Alegria hit an RBI double with two outs in the top of the 16th inning, scoring Carly Lopez for the Mustangs. Britany Matlock (2-2) pitched 10 shutout innings and had a triple and an RBI for visiting Walnut (10-9-1, 6-3-1). South Hills is 12-8, 5-3.

Jamie Clark went three for four including a triple and had four RBIs and Carissa Bronson (9-7) allowed four hits over seven innings to lead host Chino Hills (13-8, 4-7) over St. Lucies (5-6 league).

Anna Beardman led off the bottom of the first with a hit, stole two bases and scored on a infield hit by Hollee Haines, and Amanda Mendez had an RBI single in the fourth inning to lift host King (18-5, 10-1). Kaiser is 19-2, 9-2.

Sami Nelson went two for four with two RBIs and Stacey Lyon went three for three with one RBI to lead visiting Cerritos Valley Christian (14-4, 5-0). Whittier Christian is 3-2 in league.

Crossroads 3, Downey Calvary Chapel 2 (8 innings)
Katie Bosshever (8-3) struck out 20 in a two-hitter and Andrea Gillette tripled in Katie Sheir for the winning run in the top of the eighth inning to lift visiting Crossroads (8-3, 3-2). Downey Calvary Chapel is 4-13, 1-4.

Gardena Serra 15, Cantwell Sacred Heart 2 (6 innings)
Krystal Coral (4-1) allowed seven hits and struck out four to get the win for visiting Gardena Serra (10-8, 4-1).

Kristen Aufdemberg hit a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a 3-3 tie for host No. 8 Anaheim Canyon (17-7, 5-1) over No. 21 El Dorado (14-5, 4-2). Heather Slettvet (7-5) allowed six hits to get the win and hit a solo home run in the first inning for the Comanches.

CITRUS BELT LEAGUE

Fontana 10, Redlands East Valley 3
Sophomore Gabby Smith (17-2) pitched an eight-hitter and struck out seven to improve her pitching record to 19-0 in league play over two years for host Fontana (19-4, 11-0). Smith also went three for four with two RBIs. Kim Waleszonia went two for two with three RBIs for the Steelers. Redlands East Valley is 12-8, 7-4.

DELPHIC LEAGUE

Campbell Hall 7, Archer 2
Lauren Hector was three for four, including a double, with two RBIs, Lindsay Shaw had a double and threw two innings in relief, and Katie Kerr (12-1) picked up the win for host Campbell Hall (15-2, 5-0).

La Palma Kennedy 10, Cypress 2
Monique Owens went three for five with three runs scored and one RBI, and Jennifer Frazier went two for three with two runs scored and three RBIs for Kennedy (12-10, 5-1). Cypress is 1-5 in league.

Stephanie Anderson (5-4) pitched a three-hitter with five strikeouts, and Erikka Moreno went two for four with a double and a run scored for Orange Lutheran (10-14, 3-3). Valencia is 8-10, 2-4.

Christina Ross (11-4) pitched her second perfect game and fifth no-hitter, and drove in the only run, for host No. 15 Valencia (16-4, 5-1). Ross struck out eight and had a run-scoring single in the second inning. Hart is 11-8-1, 5-1.

Amanda Gabriel (8-5) pitched a two-hitter and struck out 12 and Julie Brechcel and Allison Bruton each had one RBI to lead visiting Sunny Hills (13-8, 4-2). Ashley Laban had an RBI double in the bottom of the seventh inning to score the lone run for Fullerton (6-11, 1-5).

Sabrina Borquez went two for three, including a two-run double in the sixth inning to give Western (11-8, 5-1) the victory. Savanna is 18-5, 5-1.

Michelle Summers and Nancy Solano each had a two-run single and pitcher Anna Schnitger (6-3) allowed only one earned run and picked up the win for host Hoover (9-5, 5-1).

Laura Briones went two for three with a three-run home run in the fourth inning and an RBI single in the sixth to lead visiting Cajon (17-4, 8-1), which moved ahead of Colton to claim sole possession of first place in league and avenge a loss from earlier in the season. Colton is 17-5, 6-2.

Paramount 2, Downey 0
Sadie Barton (13-3-1) pitched a no-hitter and struck out 13 to lead host Paramount (14-4-1). Bidi Fraga had a two-run single in the fourth inning to score both runs for the Pirates. Downey is 9-8, 4-2.

Whitney Radcliff was four for four with three RBIs and two runs scored to lead host No. 18 Foothill (13-9, 4-2). Irvine is 4-17, 0-6.

Caylinn Wallace had a three-run home run in the top of 11th inning for visiting No. 19 Laguna Hills (19-6, 4-2). Aliso Niguel is 14-8, 3-3.

Lauren Peterson had a bases-loaded double to highlight a seven-run sixth inning for visiting Woodbridge (18-8, 6-0), which scored twice more in the seventh. Newport Harbor is 8-11-1, 1-5.

Fullerton Rosary, ranked No. 20 in the Southland, scored twice in the bottom of the seventh inning to tie the score, and then twice in the 10th to pull out a 9-8 victory Tuesday over No. 3 Santa Ana Mater Dei at Fullerton Clark Park. The victory created a logjam at the top the Serra League. Mater Dei (16-3-2), Rosary (14-7) and La Puente Bishop Amat (15-5) - which last week beat Rosary, 14-3 - have one loss apiece. Mater Dei is ranked sixth nationally by the National Fastpitch Coaches Assn.

“We’re schizophrenic,” said Rosary Coach Tom Tice. “I don’t want to offend any schizophrenics out there, but we never know what we’re going to get or what we’re going to do.”

Mater Dei had allowed only 14 runs in its first 20 games. Both teams had 15 hits, but all of Mater Dei’s were singles, while Rosary had four doubles and a three-run triple by Katie Chifcian. Taylor Peyton had a two-out, two-run double in the seventh to tie the score at 7-7.

In the 10th, Julie Nisco - running for Jill Schaefer, who singled -- scored on a two-out double by Nicole Churnock. Cristen Lee followed with a grounder to first base, and won the race to the bag, allowing Churnock to score from second on the Monarchs’ only error.
