Ashley Esparza (14-1) pitched a one-hitter, allowing only one infield single in the seventh inning, with six strikeouts and two walks, and Jackie Conlin doubled in Stephanie Tam, who had a triple to open the sixth inning, for No. 14 San Pedro (23-3). Jessica Doucett gave up four hits and struck out eight for host El Segundo (16-6). San Pedro will host Carson at 3 p.m. on Monday to determine the Marine League championship.

Stephanie Tam singled in Kayleigh Raciak for the go-ahead run with two outs in the top of the sixth inning and Nicole Castagnola went two for four with two RBIs for host No. 14 San Pedro (22-3). Ashley Esparza (13-1) came in the top of the fifth inning with the scored tied, 3-3, to pitch a one-hitter with three strikeouts for the Pirates. Redondo is 9-10.

Consolation Round

Cerritos Valley Christian 4, Westchester 3 (9 innings)
Sami Nelson scored on a groundout in the ninth inning to lift Cerritos Valley Christian (15-4) at El Segundo.

Lacy Tyler pitched all eight innings, throwing a four-hitter with nine strikeouts and no walks, and Sharla Hume singled in Tyler for the winning run to lead La Mirada (18-4).

Freshman Michelle Tabone went three for four with one RBI and one run scored and senior Ashley Scott went one for two with a double and two RBIs and freshman Kylie Abrams pitched a complete game, striking out nine and walking one, for visiting Oak Park (10-6). Carpenteria is 4-13.

Hart 1, Valencia 0
Hart (13-8-1), which began the season in the top 25 but dropped out by the first regular season ranking, has won four of its last six games when facing ranked opponents, including two over Valencia - a Foothill League rival it lost to on Thursday, 1-0, on Christina Ross’ perfect game. Hart exacted a measure of revenge against Courtney Baughman (5-1), who pitched a two-hitter and struck out eight. Hart’s Amanda Sreden hit a sun double in the third inning, took third on a sacrifice and scored on a fielder’s choice to right field. Valencia dropped to 17-5.

Mater Dei 8, Westlake 2
Melissa Mendoza was two for four, including a double, with four RBIs, Briana Santos was two for four with two RBIs, Tonye McCorkle was two for three, including a double, with two runs scored, and right-hander Britni Rodriguez (9-2) gave up one earned run on six hits and struck out eight in six innings for No. 3 Mater Dei (19-3-2). Ava Amini took the loss for Westlake (11-9). Mater Dei will play Hart in a semifinal Saturday at 2 p.m.

Riverside Poly 6, El Modena 0
Mindy Cowles (10-3) pitched a one-hitter and struck out seven for No. 7 Riverside Poly (16-4). Nikki Packwood had two hits and two RBIs against losing pitcher Jessica Foley. Amanda Myers also had two hits and scored twice, and Cowles had two hits, including a two-run double. Riverside Poly will play Rosary in a semifinal Saturday at 2 p.m. El Modena is 15-8.

Rosary 2, Thousand Oaks 0 (5 innings, darkness)
Nicole Churnock led off the game on an error by the shortstop, and two walks later she stole home while the Lancers were attempting a pickoff at first base.

Rosary added another run in the third inning, when it got its only two hits against losing pitcher Suzanne Cominski (7-3), who pitched both games because of a knee injury to Megan Spehar.

Cristen Lee singled, took second on a fly ball, and after an intentional walk to Kaitlin Cochran, Lee scored on Taylor Peyton’s two-out single.

Peyton (10-4) limited Thousand Oaks to three hits, struck out two, walked three, hit one - and got out of a no-out, bases loaded jam in the third inning with a ground ball to second by Genna Allen, a strikeout of Melissa Smith, and a popup by the cleanup hitter, Chelsea Berthaume.

Cominski struck out five and walked five, including Cochran twice intentionally.

The lights at Thousand Oaks Community Center went out in the sixth inning when Rosary had runners at second and third with one out, and the game reverted back to the fifth inning

“We certainly had questions marks in our minds after getting trounced by Bishop Amat (14-3), but to win two extra-inning league games and beating two teams with 18 wins does a lot for our confidence,” said Tom Tice, Rosary’s coach. “Hopefully, this shows that our pitchers are turning the corner.”

Freshman Lindsey Dean (7-1) continued to shine for No. 23 Camarillo (14-7), pitching a five-hitter, as the Scorpions advanced to the consolation semifinals against Royal next Saturday.

Millikan 1, Righetti 1 (9 innings)
The lights went out at the Thousand Oaks Community Center in the ninth inning, and the game will be completed sometime during the week, according to tournament director Gary Walin.

Freshman Annissa Lagos went three for three with two singles and one triple for Camarillo (13-7).

Lauren Greer had a two-run triple in the first inning against Royal pitcher Jordan McPherson, and Kristen Pocock added a two-run home run for No. 3 Mater Dei (18-4-2). No. 25 Royal dropped to 14-5. Ariana Cervantes (2-0), starting in place of of sore-armed Briana Santos, pitched a five-hitter and struck out four for the Monarchs.

Riverside Poly 2, Los Alamitos 0
Mindy Cowles of No. 7 Riverside Poly allowed only two hits against Los Alamitos. With the bases loaded in the fifth inning, Cowles delivered a sacrifice fly for one run. Teammate Sammi Parks tripled and scored on Nikki Packwood’s single in the sixth inning.

Rosary 3, Righetti 0
Freshman pitcher Maryanne Cronin (7-3) threw a three-hitter with seven strikeouts, no-hitting Righetti (18-6) for 4 2/3 innings. The Royals (16-7) scored in the second inning on Shannon Pooler’s RBI single, and two in the sixth on Katie Chifcian’s home run. Rosary got five hits off Clarissa Segura (8-4), who struck out three.

Christina Ross (12-4) pitched a two-hitter and struck out 10 to record her seventh shutout for Valencia. Danielle Maricle had a two-run single in the first inning for the Vikings (17-4).

Senior right-hander Taryne Mowatt (17-1), who has signed with the University of Arizona, pitched a four-hitter with 12 strikeouts and freshman Kelsey Bruder had two hits and one RBI as Santiago (21-1, 11-0), ranked No. 1 by The Times, won its 18th consecutive game. Kelsey Delannoy singled in the top of the third inning to score the Sharks’ first two runs. Santiago needs one more victory to clinch at least a share of its fourth consecutive league title.

Senior Daniela Urincho (15-4), who will be playing for BYU next year, pitched a three-hitter and went two for four with a single and a RBI triple in the fourth inning to lead visiting No. 4 Norco (17-4, 8-3). No. 5 Corona is 15-8, 7-4.

Sophomore Gabby Smith (17-2) pitched an eight-hitter and struck out seven to improve her pitching record to 19-0 in league play over two years for host Fontana (19-4, 11-0). Smith also went three for four with two RBIs. Kim Waleszonia went two for two with three RBIs for the Steelers. Redlands East Valley is 12-8, 7-4.

Lauren Hector was three for four, including a double, with two RBIs, Lindsay Shaw had a double and threw two innings in relief, and Katie Kerr (12-1) picked up the win for host Campbell Hall (15-2, 5-0).

Fullerton Rosary, ranked No. 20 in the Southland, scored twice in the bottom of the seventh inning to tie the score, and then twice in the 10th to pull out a 9-8 victory Tuesday over No. 3 Santa Ana Mater Dei at Fullerton Clark Park. The victory created a logjam at the top the Serra League. Mater Dei (16-3-2), Rosary (14-7) and La Puente Bishop Amat (15-5) - which last week beat Rosary, 14-3 - have one loss apiece. Mater Dei is ranked sixth nationally by the National Fastpitch Coaches Assn.

“We’re schizophrenic,” said Rosary Coach Tom Tice. “I don’t want to offend any schizophrenics out there, but we never know what we’re going to get or what we’re going to do.”

Mater Dei had allowed only 14 runs in its first 20 games. Both teams had 15 hits, but all of Mater Dei’s were singles, while Rosary had four doubles and a three-run triple by Katie Chifcian. Taylor Peyton had a two-out, two-run double in the seventh to tie the score at 7-7.

In the 10th, Julie Nisco - running for Jill Schaefer, who singled -- scored on a two-out double by Nicole Churnock. Cristen Lee followed with a grounder to first base, and won the race to the bag, allowing Churnock to score from second on the Monarchs’ only error.
