Cy Twombly painting: An article in the Sept. 16 Calendar section about Audry Irmas’ decision to sell a Cy Twombly painting to benefit Wilshire Boulevard Temple misspelled the first name of her late husband, Sydney Irmas, as Sidney.

Climate-change summit: In the Sept. 15 Business section, an article about plans by the U.S. and China to accelerate their timetables for lowering carbon dioxide emissions misspelled the name of Chinese president Xi Jinping as Xi Jinpeng.

Tashlich ritual: In the Sept. 15 California section, a caption with photographs of members of the Nashuva spiritual community gathering at Venice Beach to take part in the Tashlich cleansing ritual said that Tuesday marked the first day of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish new year. Monday was the first day of Rosh Hashanah.

Letter writing: In the Sept. 15 California section, an article about the enduring appeal of letter writing was accompanied by a photo caption in which the name of Lydia Clarke, a participant in an L.A. Pen Pal Club event, was misspelled as Clark.

Hollywood tower case: In the Sept. 14 California section, a headline on an article about the invalidation of the approval for the already completed Sunset and Gordon apartment tower in Hollywood said that a court ordered residents to vacate the building. As the article correctly noted, it was the landlord, not a court, that ordered the building vacated.
