A knife fight early Sunday morning left one man bleeding to death on an Azusa sidewalk and a second man being treated for multiple stab wounds at an area hospital, police said.

Officers responded to a 3 a.m. call for help from the 300 block of South Vernon Avenue to find a 36-year-old man lying on the ground, police said. Paramedics rushed him to the hospital where he was pronounced dead from stab wounds.

Police have not released the name of the victim, who was a resident of Banning.

A friend took the second man, who had multiple upper-body stab wounds, to a hospital, police said. He is expected to survive.
