Shootings leave 1 dead, 5 wounded in South L.A.
A man was shot and killed in a drive-by attack in South Los Angeles on Saturday afternoon, Los Angeles police said, and three other shootings followed, leaving five wounded.
The first shooting occurred at Hoover and 81st streets about 4 p.m., said Officer Bob Bermudez of the Los Angeles Police Department’s 77th Street station. The shooter was in an SUV, police said.
At 4:55 p.m., another shooting left a male wounded at 75th Street and Figueroa.
Four hours later, a male was wounded in a shooting at Hyde Park and Brynhurst. Then at 9:40 p.m., three people were wounded in a shooting at Vermont Square Park on Budlong Avenue.
No suspects have been arrested.
The watch commader said Sunday morning that the shootings were most likely gang-related and are still being investigated.
