A man was killed on a Lake Balboa street Friday night after being struck by two cars that fled the scene, police said.

The victim, identified as 18-year-old Michael Alvarez, was struck around 9:35 p.m. on Victory Boulevard by a car that witnesses described as a silver, newer model sedan, said Los Angeles police Officer Olga Arriaga.

Alvarez was struck again by a 1990s-model brown Honda Accord, apparently with no connection to the first car, police said.

Police said Alvarez died at the scene, and both cars stopped momentarily before driving away westbound on Victory.
