Blurred lines

Great cartoons are greatly partisan. Deeply, bitterly, my-content-right-or-wrong, you’re-with-me-or-the-terrorists partisan. Baring our bias is liberating, allowing us to tee off with free-swinging contempt, like Tom Toles. But few of us are comfortable with racial politics, and I’m guessing fewer still applaud natural disasters. So color Ed Stein some less-divisive shade of gray, and appreciate Rex Babin’s juxtaposition of sport and cataclysm for its simple touch of touching sympathy. Now, back to the divisive derision.
