Dear SOS: I used to make Justice Lillie’s chocolate mousse pie every year until I couldn’t find my recipe. It has chocolate-dipped cherries on top and a chocolate cookie crust. I got the recipe out of the Times a long time ago.
Dear Bette: This recipe, which we first ran in the 1980s, was developed by Judge Mildred Lillie of the Court of Appeals in Los Angeles. It can easily be made ahead. The cherry cordials are simple to make yet quite decadent. They’d make a delicious addition to any dessert presentation, or would be great served alone.
