West Hills Chaminade (3-1) at Gardena Serra (1-3), 7:30 p.m. (Prime Ticket): The Mission League begins with a renewal of this rivalry that brings together teams with lots of talent. It’s an important test for new Chaminade quarterback Brevin White, who used to play at Alemany. Receiver Michael Wilson is having a big season for the Eagles. Serra has had two weeks to prepare. Avoiding turnovers and penalties will be the key for Serra. The pick: Chaminade.

Santa Ana Mater Dei (4-0) vs. Huntington Beach Edison (4-0) at Orange Coast College, 7 p.m.: Never has a Mater Dei looked better early in the season. Quarterback J.T. Daniels has completed 81% of his passes for 1,508 yards and 23 touchdowns. Edison has played the Monarchs tough through the years but will need to put pressure on Daniels. The pick: Mater Dei.
