Track & Field: Mater Dei’s Curtis Godin wins 100

Mater Dei sprinter Curtis Godin ran the 100 meters in a state-leading 10.36 seconds and equaled the meet record at tonight’s Arcadia Invitational. Godin’s 100 time was the third-fastest in the nation this season.

He also ran the 200 meters in 21.03, finishing second to Paul Lucas of Mountain Pointe, AZ, who clocked a national-leading 20.84. Godin’s time was the third fastest in the nation this year and sixth-fastest in meet history.

Adoree Jackson of Gardena Serra leaped 25 feet, one-half inch to win the Invitational long jump and Carl Johansson of Orange Lutheran cleared a personal-best 16-08 to take first place in the pole vault.

Misana Viltz of Long Beach Millikan won the 110 high hurdles in 13.92, the second fastest time in the nation this season and Loyola’s 4x100 relay team of Aaron Gomez, Nico Evans, Kyle Oden and Mekai Sheffie won in 41.61.

Matt Katnik of St. John Bosco was second in the shot put with a school-best throw of 64-04.25.

Dorsey’s Jermale Jefferson, Daniel Lawson, Tryon McCraw and Brandon James won the 4x400 relay in 3:15.00. Long Beach Poly (3:18.63) was fourth and Westlake (3:19.35) was fifth.
