When it comes to long road trips, Arroyo Grande’s sports teams are in a different category. They might want to play Willie Nelson’s “On the Road Again,” in their vans.
According to Athletic Director Dwight MacDonald, here are the recent road trips:
The boys’ soccer team went to Fountain Valley Los Amigos, then Baldwin Park to accumulate more than 800 miles.
The wrestling team went to Riverside Norte Vista for more than 450 miles. The girls’ basketball team went to Hemet (560 miles round trip) and spent 10 1/2 hours on the road. The girls’ water polo team went to Chino Hills and is headed to Irvine (more than 800 miles).
The boys’ basketball team is headed to Tustin on Tuesday (440 miles) and will stay overnight.
“We miss so much in class time,” MacDonald said.
