Baseball: Glendora wins Palomares League title behind Austin Isenhart
Pitcher Austin Isenhart has come through repeatedly this season in big games for Glendora, and there was no bigger game than Friday’s regular-season finale against South Hills for the Palomares League title.
The senior left-hander threw a five-hit shutout in Glendora’s 5-0 victory. Race Gardner went three for three with two RBIs. Glendora improved to 22-7 and 10-5. South Hills dropped to 19-8-1 and 9-5-1.
Ayala defeated Diamond Bar, 7-1. Ayala now must wait to see if Bonita loses to Claremont on Saturday. That’s the only way Ayala can make the playoffs.
In the Bay League, Mira Costa completed a two-game sweep of Redondo and finished tied for first place with a 6-3 win. Will Proctor hit a two-run home run. Trevor Franklin picked up the win.
In the Pacific League, Crescenta Valley defeated Arcadia, 7-2. Brian Gadsby threw a complete game, striking out four. Adrian Damla, Kewin Ledesma and Brett Klein each had two RBIs.
