Baseball: Josh Garcia comes through with walk-off home run for Chatsworth

A two-run walk-off home run by Josh Garcia gave Chatsworth a dramatic 7-6 win over Mira Costa on Saturday.

Garcia hit it over the left-field fence on a two-strike, two-out pitch in the bottom of the seventh at Chatsworth. Chatsworth rallied from a 6-0 deficit. Alex Milone had a two-run pinch-hit single. Will Proctor had three hits for Mira Costa.

La Mirada 14, Bonita 2: Dante Mancia allowed four hits and Daniel Jung went four for four with a home run and double for La Mirada.

Sierra Canyon 5, Westlake 4: Jake Patterson’s third hit of the day gave Sierra Canyon the victory in eight innings on a walk-off. Billy Edwards had a three-run double. Seth Stone had two hits.

El Camino Real 3, Verdugo Hills 2: James Terrazas came up with the save in the seventh to preserve the Conquistadores’ win. Daniel Moreno had two hits. Jose Campos threw 6 1/3 innings.

Valencia 8, Thousand Oaks 0: The Vikings improved to 21-6 behind Cris Cruz, who threw a three-hitter. Andres Paz went three for three with a home run and three RBIs.

Banning 5, North Hollywood 0: Adrian Cobos threw a complete game and Gabe Ruiz had a home run.

Simi Valley 1, Newbury Park 0: Freshman Justin Campbell retired the first 17 batters in order and finished with six innings of shutout ball for the Pioneers. He struck out one and walked none.

San Fernando 5, Birmingham 3: Andres Sandoval and Albert Robles each had two hits for the Tigers. Robles hit a three-run home run in the fifth.

Cleveland 3, San Pedro 2: Ben Schecter got the win, throwing 6 2/3 innings. Chris Gonzalez hit a home run.

Moorpark 4-4, Calabasas 5-0: The Musketeers got a doubleheader split when Travis Weston allowed two hits in six innings in the second game. T.J. Foreman went four for four. In the first game, Michael Vistal had two hits and three RBIs for Calabasas.

Redondo 4, Bishop Amat 0: Connor Riley struck out nine and allowed two hits for Redondo (23-1). Marco Valenzuela had two hits and two RBIs.

South Torrance 5, Cypress 4: A three-run seventh helped South Torrance pull out the win.

Long Beach Wilson 9, North Torrance 4: Max Williford had three hits and Jack Williford contributed three RBIs.

Taft 9, Westchester 6: Zach Roth, Shai Filous and Josh Thomas each had two hits for Taft.

Kennedy 14, Huntington Park 0: The Golden Cougars won the nonleague game. Brandon Duarte threw five scoreless innings. Andrew Olivas had four RBIs, Jon Flores had three hits and Luis Campos added two hits.

La Salle 6-9, Burroughs 3-4: Kyle Cuellar went three for three with two RBIs for La Salle in the first game of a doubleheader sweep.

Granada Hills 5, Marshall 1: Dalton Lock threw a complete game and Van Gilles had a home run for the Highlanders.

Sun Valley Poly 10, Salesian 0: Alex Leon threw five shutout innings. Miguel Leal and John Lopez each had three hits.

North 11, King 2: A grand slam by Shane Martinez powered North to the victory. Martinez also threw a complete game.

Oaks Christian 8, St. Bonaventure 3: Rhylan Thomas had three hits for the Lions.
