Baseball: Southwest Futures All-Star Series set for Saturday and Sunday at Cal State Northridge

More than 80 promising juniors and seniors from the baseball classes of 2017 and 2018 are scheduled to play on Saturday and Sunday at Cal State Northridge in the Futures All-Star Baseball Series at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. each day.

The West team includes pitcher Ryan Roche (Chatsworth); pitcher Elan Filous (El Camino Real) and shortstop Dane Reed (El Camino Real); pitcher Jacob Bravo (St. Bonaventure); pitcher Seth Stone (Sierra Canyon) and pitcher Alex Davis (Taft).

On the South team are the Bishop Amat duo of Jayson Gonzalez and Isaac Esqueda; pitcher Raul Salazar from Cypress; Trinity League MVP Royce Lewis from JSerra; Mater Dei’s Jonathan Schiffer, Blake Hunt, Michael Thomas and Michael Peabody; Orange Lutheran’s Tristian Hanoian, Brendan Avventino, Garrett Mitchell and Zach Busalacchi; St. John Bosco’s Kameron Ojeda.

The North team includes Agoura’s Jonny DeLuca; Chaminade’s Sean Sullivan; Oaks Christian’s Adam Kerner and Holden Christian; Burroughs’ Justin Palafox; Valencia’s Ben Fariss and Chase Farrell.

The East team features Chatsworth’s Brandon Bohning and Josh Medina, plus Westlake’s Bo Jelinek.
