On Monday, standout point guard Jordan McLaughlin had an MRI that revealed a torn labrum in his shoulder. Coach Dave Kleckner said McLaughlin would need surgery and was lost for the season.
But on Tuesday, McLaughlin said the doctor who will do the surgery told him he could play in Friday’s Southern California Regional Open Division playoff game against El Camino Real with the help of a brace.
McLaughlin said he still plans to have surgery in April. He will try to see how things go in practice this week, but plans to play after receiving doctor’s clearance.
