Boys’ basketball: Village Christian settles for three transfers
- Share via
All summer, there has been speculation on how many transfers Sun Valley Village Christian might get to join Bennie Boatwright this season.
Well, school began on Monday, and the Crusaders ended up with three transfers, according to Athletic Director Kevin Aust.
They include Kahlil Simplis from Campbell Hall, Clifton Powell from Taft and Josh Caston from Mater Dei.
Caston should be the happiest of all. He was commuting to Santa Ana from Burbank and will have to sit out the opening month of the season after not moving his residence.
Not showing up were two players from Florida rumored to be considering the Crusaders.
So as the summer ends, it looks like Maranatha was the big winner from the Olympic League, picking up Tyler Dorsey from St. John Bosco and Trevor Stanback from Chaminade.
