ECR shortstop Dane Reed makes it on ESPN _ with commercial

At the age of 16, junior shortstop Dane Reed of El Camino Real has made it on ESPN.
Well, sort of.
He appeared with his mother, father and older brother in a commericial for Sprint.
His mother, Helena, is an actress. His father, Don, is a comedian. His older brother, Tag, plays music. So it was the perfect family to spend two days shooting a commercial.
“We all came in, auditioned and got the job,” Reed said.
And they got paid, too. Reed did such a great job looking into the camera that maybe he’s considering an acting career _ not.
“It was fun while it lasted,” he said.
He’ll save his focus for trying to hit All-City pitcher Jeremy Polon in practice.
Reed is set to start at shortstop for the defending City Section champions.
Here’s the link to the commercial airing on TV.
He’ll be happy to sign autographs, but he hopes it has to do with his baseball performance.
He does have one thing on his entire family _ a championship ring from winning at Dodger Stadium.
