Football: Brandon Boyd prepares for return at Alemany
- Share via
The decision had been made. Brandon Boyd would give up football to concentrate on basketball. Alemany began football practice without Boyd, who had eight interceptions playing on defense as a junior.
Then Boyd began to have second thoughts and decided to return last week.
“I felt it was the right thing to do and I missed it a lot,” he said.
He will have his mandatory 10 days of practice completed this week and will make his season debut on Friday against Pasadena Muir.
He has been playing receiver against the defense in practice, and Coach Dean Herrington said, “He’s been phenomenal.”
Boyd still hopes to earn a scholarship with his basketball skills. But for now, his focus will be on football.
