Football: Bryce Dixon is healthy and causing big problems

Share

No. 3-seeded Long Beach Poly travels to Ventura College on Friday night to take on St. Bonaventure in a Pac-5 Division quarterfinal playoff game, and the Jackrabbits had better be ready to take on the best tight end in Southern California, Bryce Dixon.

Dixon has been living up to his reputation. He had two touchdown receptions in a first-round win over Sherman Oaks Notre Dame.

He’s big, physical and fast. Poly has plenty of defensive backs capable of covering him, but Dixon is an intriguing target for Alabama-bound junior quarterback Ricky Town.

And the challenge in facing St. Bonaventure is that the Serapahs have another dangerous weapon in speedy receiver Lavan Alston. And running back Marcus Chambers has rushed for more than 1,000 yards.
