Football: Commitments, transfers and other news

With letter of intent day nearing on Feb. 5, players are starting to finalize their commitments.

In the Santa Clarita Valley, running back Connor Wingenroth of Hart is headed to Colgate and defensive lineman Josh Stanton of Valencia has committed to Wyoming. Huntington Beach Edison lineman Jesse Sosebee has committed to Washington, where La Habra lineman Greg Gaines is headed.

Indiana has offered Hart junior quarterback Brady White.

OCVarsity.com is reporting that longtime Coach Bob Burt has resigned at Cypress because of heath issues after two seasons. He has coached for more than 50 years, including Cal State Northridge, where he was head coach.

Gardena Serra Coach Scott Altenberg confirmed that junior receiver-defensive back Stanley Norman has transferred from Culver City. He’s expected to help offset the graduation of Adoree’ Jackson.

Michigan is the latest school to offer Orange Lutheran junior defensive end Keisean Lucier-South.
