Football: QB Koa Haynes offers another challenge for Notre Dame
- Share via
Sherman Oaks Notre Dame’s defense has been on a tour visiting some of the best quarterbacks in Southern California.
There was Boise State-bound Jalen Greene of Gardena Serra. There was Colorad-bound Cade Apsay of Canyon Country Canyon. There was Miami-bound Brad Kaaya of West Hills Chaminade.
Now the Knights open Serra League play on Friday night with another quarterback challenge: Koa Haynes of La Puente Bishop Amat.
Haynes has passed for 1,769 yards and 17 touchdowns in helping lead the Lancers to a 5-1 record.
Notre Dame’s defense has been effective. Linebacker Tony Gutierrez, defensive end Cameron Page and cornerback Mike Little have a knack for coming up with big plays.
And there’s always the versatile Koa Farmer to roam the field on defense and offense. Chris Colarossi (see above) has been a standout at running back for the Knights.
But Haynes is a veteran of Serra League battles. His ability to come through in clutch situations will be tough to overcome.
