Football: Santa Monica to honor Super Bowl alumni
Three former Santa Monica High football players who played on teams that made it to the Super Bowl will be honored by the high school on Friday.
Dennis Thurman, Mel Kaufman and Dennis Smith will be on hand as part of a celebration on for the 50th anniversary of the Super Bowl.
The NFL is presenting gold footballs to the high school of every player and head coach who appeared in a Super Bowl.
