Harvard-Westlake’s Terry Barnum expected to be released from hospital
Terry Barnum, the well-liked head of athletics at Harvard-Westlake and a former USC running back, is expected to be released from the hospital this week after being treated for a heart attack on Sunday, said Audrius Barzdukas, the head of upper school.
Barnum has been receiving support not just from the school but from across the state. He’s a major contributor in CIF events.
“He’s in good spirits,” Barzdukas said. “He’s been funny. He’s been everything we love about him.”
Barnum’s son, Alex, has qualified for the Mission League 100 meters final on Thursday.
“He’s committed to making a comeback so that he can run faster than his son,” Barzdukas said.
