Adrian Rodriguez pitched a seven-hitter with two strikeouts as sixth-seeded Birmingham upset second-seeded Narbonne, 3-1, in tonight’s City Section Division I semifinal game at USC’s Dedeaux Field.

The Patriots (18-14) will play West Valley League rival Chatsworth (28-5-1) in the championship game Saturday at 1 p.m. at Dodger Stadium. Chatsworth beat Palisades, 3-2, in the first semifinal.

“I’m a big Dodger fan so going there is a great feeling for me, even though I probably won’t play,” Rodriguez said. “My fastball, my curve and my changeup were all working and throwing strikes really helped.”
Ryan Mendoza scored Birmingham’s first run on a hit by Audelio Camacho in the second inning. Eduardo Rosales scored on a bases-loaded walk and Camacho scored on a wild pitch in the fourth to make it 3-0.
