After 25 years as head football coach at Upland High, Tim Salter said Monday he has resigned and will be retiring at the end of the school year.

Salter, 61, guided Upland to four Southern Section championships, including a Division 2 title this past season. The school is expected to hire a replacement from within the program.

Salter’s father, Dick, was a legendary football coach at Arcadia. Salter also served as a head coach at L.A. Cathedral and Schurr, compiling an overall record of 237-100-1.
