Heat vs. Thunder: Game 1 updates
OKLAHOMA CITY -- So much for being fatigued.
Just days after closing out a grueling seven-game series against Boston, the Miami Heat took a 54-47 halftime lead over Oklahoma City in Game 1 of the NBA Finals.
The Heat looked spry from the start, racing to a 29-22 first-quarter lead over the Thunder.
Shane Battier had nine points in the first quarter alone and 13 by halftime at Chesapeake Energy Arena.
LeBron James had 13 points and also four steals in the first half for Miami.
Kevin Durant had 11 points in the first quarter for Oklahoma City, but only two in the second quarter. Russell Westbrook had nine points and six assists but made only three of 10 shots.
