Trout, Hamilton help Angels to first back-to-back wins of season
Mike Trout hit a solo home run and Josh Hamilton raised his season average 48 points with a single, triple and two-run home run Sunday, leading the Angels to a 4-1 victory over the Houston Astros that gave the team its first two-game winning streak of the season.
Trout got the Angels started in the first, doubling with one out and coming home on Hamilton’s infield single. After the Astros evened the score in the second on consecutive doubles by Ronny Cedeno and Matt Dominguez, Trout put the Angels in front to stay with a one-out solo homer to right-center.
It was his first home run of the year.
In the eighth inning, Trout scored his third run of the game -- and fourth of the weekend -- by walking and scoring on Hamilton’s second homer in as many days.
Left-hander C.J. Wilson got the win with Ernesto Frieri recording the final four outs to earn the save.
