Blake Griffin remains game-time decision; Chris Paul to play

Blake Griffin walked past the media after the Clippers’ shoot-around without talking about his sprained right ankle that has left his status uncertain for Friday night’s Game 6 against the Memphis Grizzlies.

Clippers Coach Vinny Del Negro stayed with the company line regarding Griffin playing against the Grizzlies at the FedEx Forum.

“Blake’s status is it’s game-time,” Del Negro said. “He’s battling through it and we’ll see how he feels once he gets his warm-ups and we’ll see where we’re at.”

Chris Paul had his bruised left thumb wrapped during practice, but he said that he will play.

“It’s fine,” Paul said. “It’ll be better tonight.”

Paul was asked what he has been doing to get the thumb better.

“Praying over it,” he said. “It changes everything.”

The Clippers trail the Grizzlies, 3-2, in the best-of-seven series.

If the Clippers lose Game 6, they will be eliminated from the playoffs.

If Griffin is unable to start, Del Negro said Lamar Odom will start at power forward.

Del Negro also said that Matt Barnes and Grant Hill could see some playing time at power forward.
