Update: Three of the Clippers’ four victories over the Lakers were by double digits last season. The Clippers swept them for the first time since 1974-75 and have never done it two seasons in a row. Kobe Bryant will not play because of a torn Achilles’ tendon, missing his first season opener since 2006. Clippers reserve guard Darren Collison has a bruised kneecap but is expected to play.
