Up next for Chivas USA: Saturday vs. Seattle

When:7:30.

Where: Home Depot Center.

On the air: TV: FS West, KWHY.

Records: Chivas 7-9-6, Sounders 11-6-7.

Record vs. Sounders: 0-0-1.

Update: Chivas USA is 10 points out of a playoff berth with 12 games remaining, meaning it can’t afford any more slip-ups. Seattle has lost only one MLS game in the last two months. Chivas is 2-2-3 over that same span, being shut out three times while being outscored 8-4. The game will match the best two defenses in the Western Conference, with the Sounders having given up only a goal a game and Chivas keeper Dan Kennedy ranking among the MLS leaders with 79 saves and a 1.18 goals-against average. But Chivas has lacked for creativity at the other end, scoring a league-low 15 goals while being blanked nine times in 22 matches. Chivas could get a boost from the addition of Salvadoran midfielder Marvin Iraheta, who is listed as probable for Saturday’s game. Iraheta hasn’t played this season after undergoing surgery on his left knee.
