Clippers sign guard Maalik Wayns
The Clippers have signed Maalik Wayns to a 10-day contract, the team announced Wednesday.
Wayns had been waived by the Clippers on Monday, but with Chris Paul out up to six weeks with a Grade 3 AC joint separation of his right shoulder, the team was in need of another backup point guard.
Though Wayns, 22, was activated for three games this season, he didn’t appear in any of the 33 games for which he was on the roster, because he was recovering from surgery to his left knee.
He did play in six games with the Clippers last season, averaging 3.3 points and 1.2 assists.
The 6-foot-2 Wayns is considered a good defender.
