Jacoby Jones discusses Week 5 on ‘Dancing with the Stars’

The Times has Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Jacoby Jones guest-blogging while he competes on “Dancing With the Stars.” Each week while he competes on the show, Jones will answer a few questions from Sports Now editor Houston Mitchell and give some insight into the competition. Here are Jones’ thoughts about Week 5, which he offered via email.

Q. On Monday, you did the splits, jumped over Karina’s head and seemed to have extra-bendable knees. Are you made out of rubber?

That’s funny. She actually thought that I couldn’t make the jump. I told her I could fly.

Q. Do you think these weeks of training and dancing will make you even better on the football field?

I think it’s really going to help with my foot work on the field and keep me in shape. Karina really kicks my butt. I always have to tell her, there is no play in football that lasts 1:30 seconds and then to do it everyday for 6 hrs, man.

Q. Tell us a little about Karina. She is a veteran of the show. What is the most surprising thing you have learned about her?

She’s a female version of me. We are just alike in a lot of ways and that surprised me.

Q. Do you ever feel like tossing a football at Len and asking him how he would do on the football field?

Not at all, I love Len. He reminds me of my grandfather, just with an accent.
