Watch man knock over kid in pursuit of Kyle Seager’s grand slam

Share

It’s always amazing how the pursuit of a foul ball at a baseball game will turn some grown men into idiots. Case in point: an unidentified man at Wednesday’s Chicago-Seattle game at Safeco Field in Seattle.

The Mariners were trailing the White Sox, 5-1, in the bottom of the 14th inning, but had the bases loaded with Kyle Seager at the plate.

Seager launched a high drive that landed in the bleachers in right-center. You can see that in the video above.

But watch closely as the ball lands in the stands and a handful of people go after it.

Specifically, watch the guy in the white shirt as he turns and runs down his row to get the ball. He barrels into a small boy, knocking him over. He has ample time to see the kid, but getting that home run ball was oh so important.

Poor kid will probably hate baseball for the rest of his life now. Here’s hoping the Mariners found out who that kid is and sent him some stuff in the mail. And we can only hope that the “adult” who knocked him over wasn’t related to him.

The White Sox scored twice in the top of the 15th and won, 7-5.
