Richard Sherman rants after Seattle Seahawks’ NFC championship win

Seattle’s Richard Sherman thinks he’s the best cornerback in the NFL.

Earlier this week, San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree said he didn’t think Sherman was the league’s best cornerback.

So it only makes sense that the man who brought “U mad, bro?” into the sports-insult lexicon would try to crown himself king of postgame rants after the Seahawks defeated the 49ers, 23-17, in the NFC championship game on Sunday.

After deflecting a pass intended for Crabtree in the end zone that led to a Seattle interception and clinched the win, Sherman gave a brief, but memorable, interview to Fox sideline reporter Erin Andrews immediately after the game:

“Well, I’m the best corner in the game. When you try me with a sorry receiver like Crabtree, that’s the result you’re gonna get .... Don’t you [Crabtree] ever talk about me! Don’t you open your mouth about the best or I’m gonna shut it for you real quick.”

Crabtree, who shoved Sherman in the facemask after the cornerback taunted him following the interception, still doesn’t think the Seattle defensive star is all that great:

Film don’t lie... @nflnetwork @espn pull up the tape of that game and show me where this guy is the best? #fake #fake #fake— Michael Crabtree (@KingCrab15) January 19, 2014

Perhaps the Denver Broncos receiving corps should keep their conversations with the media vague when discussing the Seattle Seahawks secondary over the next two weeks.
