USC athletes reach finals at NCAA track and field championships

USC athletes are making a run at titles at the NCAA track and field championships at Eugene, Ore.

On Friday afternoon, USC’s Bryshon Nellum competes in the 400-meter final, Aaron Brown in the 100 and Reggie Wyatt in the 400 hurdles.

Nellum and Brown also qualified for Saturday’s 200-meter final.

Alitta Boyd and Melia Cox compete Friday in the final of the women’s triple jump.

USC’s Remington Conaster earned eight points Friday and helped position the men’s team for a possible shot at a team title by finishing second in the hammer with a mark of 224 feet 1 inch. Virginia Tech’s Tomas Kruzliak won with a throw of 227-3.

USC’s Alexandra Collatz finished fifth in the women’s discus with a throw of 181-11. On Wednesday, USC’s Jenny Ozorai finished fourth in the women’s hammer throw with a mark of 217-06.
