Dwyane Wade helps Heat end three-game skid
Dwyane Wade scored 13 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter, LeBron James led all scorers with 23 points and the Miami Heat clinched a playoff spot by beating the Washington Wizards, 99-90, on Monday night in Miami.
Chris Bosh scored 22 for the Heat, which ended a losing streak at three games and moved to within one game of Indiana in the race for the No. 1 seeding in the Eastern Conference.
Ray Allen added 13 for Miami, which was down one midway through the fourth before Wade sparked a 12-0 run with five points, three assists and a block at the rim. The Heat never trailed again, and avoided its first four-game slide since 2011.
Bradley Beal scored 18 points, Martell Webster added 17 and Drew Gooden scored 15 for the Wizards. Marcin Gortat finished with 14 points and 18 rebounds — 10 of them in the first quarter.
at New York 123, Philadelphia 110: Tim Hardaway Jr. scored 28 points and the Knicks won their fourth in a row while sending the 76ers to their 17th straight loss. Amare Stoudemire added 23 points, J.R. Smith 22 and Carmelo Anthony 20 for New York. Michael Carter-Williams had 23 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists for Philadelphia.
at Brooklyn 101, Toronto 97: Deron Williams and Shaun Livingston each scored 18 points and an ailing Paul Pierce hit a three-point shot with 1:14 remaining to lead the Nets to their eighth consecutive home win. Kyle Lowry scored 21 points for the Raptors, who had won nine of 11.
at Milwaukee 105, Orlando 98: Brandon Knight scored 24 points and sparked the Bucks’ rally from an 18-point deficit in a matchup of teams with two of the three worst records in the league.
at Charlotte 105, Denver 98: Al Jefferson scored 26 points and Kemba Walker added 24 to help the Bobcats win their seventh in a row at home. Jefferson made 10 of his first 14 shots and also had a game-high 12 rebounds. Ty Lawson scored 24 points for the Nuggets.
Atlanta 112, at Utah 110: Kyle Korver scored 26 points and Paul Millsap added 23 to help the Hawks end a losing streak at six games. Jeff Teague had 14 points and Atlanta used a late 16-4 run to end a 10-game road skid and salvage a win at the end of a six-game trip.
