Share

The Grossmont High Foothillers came out walking in last night’s Grossmont League game against the Monte Vista Monarchs, and the slow-down strategy seemed to be working. After the first five minutes, the scored was tied, 6-6.

However, the Monte Vista defense was able to shut down Grossmont’s offense the rest of the way to win, 62-30, and remain undefeated in league play (7-0, 13-1 overall).

“Our kids just played super defense,” Monte Vista Coach Pete Colonelli said. “They really did a super job. They gained control of the tempo of the game after the first five minutes. I think all seven of the kids we ran in and out tonight did a good job.”
