A high school football coach is being sued by the parents of a 13-year-old boy who collapsed with heat stroke during a July football practice and later died.

Mark Johnson had complained of feeling sick, but St. Augustine High School Coach Charles J. Ross made him keep running on the football field, according to the suit filed Monday.

The parents, Orleans Civil District Judge Bernette Johnson and her husband Paul Raymond Johnson, said in their suit Ross was negligent by working the students too hard between 4 and 6. p.m.
