Ward Leads Saddleback Past Riverside City, 8-7

Dave Ward’s grand slam in the second inning Tuesday led Saddleback College to an 8-7 win over Riverside City in a nonconference baseball game played at Mission Viejo.

In other community college baseball action Tuesday, Cypress beat San Diego Mesa, 8-5; Fullerton beat San Bernardino Valley in 10 innings, 6-3; Orange Coast routed San Barbara City, 12-0, and Golden West and Palomoar tied, 6-6, in a game called after 12 innings because of darkness.
