Times’ All-South Coast Team Headed by Compton High Trio

Three players from Compton’s undefeated Southern Section 4-A champions--Felicia Benson, Cathy Gooden and Kim Thompson--head The Times’ All-South Coast girls basketball team.
The All-South Coast team is one of 10 from circulation areas that will be honored at The Times’ annual prep basketball awards ceremony at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Times Mirror Building in downtown Los Angeles. Cal State Long Beach Coach Joan Bonvicini is scheduled to be the guest speaker.
A player of the year and coach of the year will be announced at the ceremony.
Coaches and sportswriters also selected Nicole McDonald of Lynwood, Natasha Parks of Regina Caeli, Marcine Edmonds of Poly, Jan Pearson and Patty Porter of Millikan, Janice Parks of Mayfair and Cynthia Robinson of Lakewood.
